CIgarette break conversation with a Repug about F/911
So on my morning cigarette break today, a guy from the building was outside smoking also. He started the conversation by bashing Linda Ronstadt about her Moore dedication. Spouted about hollwood liberals needing to shut up. Then he began bashing the movie F/911. I let him go on for a while until he stopped to catch his breath, then he asked me what I thought of the movie.

I replied: Well, I haven't seen it yet, so I would not be able to speak intelligently about it, and since I think bashing a movie that I haven't seen based solely on what I heard or read on the internet would just display my complete ignorance of the topic and make me look stupid, so I'll withhold my opinion until I see it.

Then I immediately asked him where he saw it. Yup, you guessed it, he hasn't.

Then he went off about Hollywood types needing to stay out of politics because they have no idea what they are talking about and should just shut up already. So I asked him if he felt the same way about Governor Ahnuld in California and he said yes, being a hollywood actor does not give you the experience to be the Gov of California and he should never have been elected.

So I said, yes, and that should have applied to Reagan too.

At that point he stubbed out his cig and just walked away.

:) I had fun :)

excludes you from speaking your mind, but the rest of us who live here are allowed to. I never understood that bullshit argument about Hollywood liberals shutting up? No, dude, he/she has as much right to speak out as you and I do. WTF?

3. You were great and you need to see F9/11!
I've been talking about Linda Ronstandt all day but only to people who think it is un-American to have thrown her out like that!

rayguns is the biggest comeback we have when they start dissing celebraties speaking out...they're American, too. Maybe they should read the Constitution..I believe we are all entitled to speak and to vote!

7. Good Point! And reminds me of something that
someone(Michael Moore) said about the difference between repukes and Dems..If we don't like something ..we just don't listen to it..if the repukes don't like ..they don't want anyone else listening, either!

8. Excellent comeback!
Man, you led him right into that! I hate it when these idiots say that celebrities should just shut up about politics. Does being a celebrity mean you forfeit your citizenship rights? They have as much right to speak out as anyone else, and I admire them that they use their fame for something other than makeup commercials.

Of course we all know that they just mean lefty celebrities should shut up. They sure don't complain about Charlton Heston, Bruce Willis, Ted Nugent, or as you mentioned, Arnold or Raygun.

13. I think it is time to realize something from these experiences....
The tide has, indeed, turned. And things are likely to get nasty now.

But, mostly, I think that we have reached a saturation point at which no one but the most ignorant and ill-informed are supporting this administration.
