2. Darn right !
The Dems will win their lawsuit. If they don't then every state can just change the rules whenever they want to.

4. yeah, it's disgusting beyond belief.
I have never seen such angry partisan dealings. It's all a huge power play.

Repukes are so united, though, that my guess is that Ashcroft will rubber-stamp anything they ask him to.

3. The Universe demands...
That each time you invoke bad energy for personal gain there is a price that must be paid. Oft times, 3-fold. Call it Karma, if you wish.

The price will soon come due for this behavior, on the part of the repukes. In Tejas and nationally. If it hasn't already started.

It's just The Way Things Work.

5. Politics is cyclical...
...the Repukes can see the writing on the wall in Texas. They know that soon white folks will be the minority, so they're out to grab all they can get ASAP...they are just so damned transparent it isn't funny. Not to mention they are petty and vindictive little tyrants. They'll get theirs - of this I have no doubt.

6. Last ditch
If the "Killer Ds" lose this battle, they still have one ace in the hole. They can take a Republican-passed redistricting plan to the Federal Courts.

I hope it doesn't come to this but it seems like this sbattle of will is being escalated every day by the thugs that run the Senate.

8. Typical repub/conservative behavior.
If they can't achieve their goal legitimately they will lie, cheat, distort and manipulate to achieve their goal. In their twisted, warped little minds the ends justify the means.

10. How is it that they think they will always have power?
"Ratliff said the standoff is killing the Senate's tradition of bipartisan cooperation."

"The real tragedy is that it was all predictable and avoidable," he said. "But each step that is taken, just by one more step, destroys the Senate I knew."

These guys are deranged. They try to jail and bankrupt their colleagues then complain about the decline bipartisan cooperation?
