RNC Convention Report. Today I went to Orientation
I went to orientation for the RNC convention today. It was short and I didn’t learn much. It appears that they are trying to keep the volunteers for the convention neutral and said that people could opt out of some partisan assignment if they were uncomfortable with it. The assignment was painting Bush posters which I am including a picture of. I wanted to make a poster that said Bush 2004-Draft 2005 but I think it would have blown my cover.

I am not sure if I will be able to volunteer for this. I am going to be on vacation the whole time that they will be doing training and you have to attend at least one training event.

The little notes that I might be interesting to you are:
They want this to be the greatest conventions of conventions.
They want the city to give red carpet treatment to them.
They want to paint 35000 signs so their fellow brownshirts can hold them up in the Garden.
They all wore their brown shirts neatly.

1. Be careful
DON'T blow your cover, and don't tell us too much about what you plan to do there. I suspect they have people watching websites like this one (Hi, Mr. RNC Intern! :)) for potential "disruptors". Oh, and make sure to dress like a well to do white male so you fit in.

2. I like those signs
The first 2 letters in 'rocks' can be easily changed to 'su' or 'fu'
by NY grafitti artists. And 'Go, Bush,Go' is a sentiment I heartily agree with.

3. You are unbelievable. More power to you.
Did you really have to make a poster? ewww. I could not do it. Still, I am in awe of your infiltration and appreciate your reports.

Do you need any Lysol or Maalox?

4. It was optional.
And I didn't do it. I would have done it if I could have gotten away making my own message.

I to a bleach bath last night and am much better now.

7. Bet you had to gargle with Listerine...

...after having all those foul words come out of your mouth pretending to be a Bushie.

My question is, how do you rate a pass to the RNC in the first place, or will that blow your cover?

6. Um, Cheney has never "rocked."
He never did rock, he isn't rocking now, and I doubt seriously that he ever will rock.

8. What kind of moron thinks "Cheney rocks"?
I guess if you paint it on enough posters it must be true! }(

Those must be the posters for the 'Punk Rockers for Bush/Cheney' to hold. Now they just need some that say "Cheney RULES!!!!"

Hang in there and be careful. And thanks for the report.

You can dress up a murderous cyborg in a sport coat and wingtips, but he's still a murderous cyborg.

19. Hopefully you are posting from Kinkos or an Internet Cafe. . .
. . .because they could get your IP so so fast and poof you are busted. As a matter of fact make sure you host your photos somewhere different than something you own. E-mail another DUer and ask him or her to host them for you.
