1. There is nothing wrong with posting Drudge stories

We all know that he is wrong a lot, but sometimes he is right. So, it is fine to post stories from him as long as everyone knows that they could be wrong.

4. Disagreeing with all the Drudge stories is not the same

...as having enough room left to form a positive, liberal world view of your own. There is more to being a Leftist than being scandalized by the Right.

Between Drudge, and Limbaugh, and Hanity, and O'Reily etc. etc. etc. there is a pattern of wallowing in the enemy's POV (and boosting their ratings). The best answers these posters have for our nation's problems are of the type "make it the way it was under Clinton", and at worst they reach for the Right-wing answers because they don't know anything else.

5. People posting Drudge links serve Drudge, not DU.

They put money in his pocket and bring his bile and distortions here. If folks like wallowing in his slime, that's a matter of personal preference, but using this forum to further spread that crap is a disgusting habit which furthers HIS agenda and should be discouraged.

Someone suggested this idea for all the posts linking to Freep Republic.

I think this would be a reasonable option, since DU would still be allowing freedom of expression (for those who get off on regurgitating FR and Drudge excrement), and anyone who wants to wallow in that stuff can go to that forum. But, at the same time, it relegates that trash to the DU basement, keeping it from polluting GD, and therefore discourages the practice of constantly pointing to DU and FR..
