I hope the Kerry people have a plan to fight fire with fire. Dukakis did not. Gore did not. You cannot win against Republican ratfuckers by being nice. You have to cram ratfucking down Republicans' throats.

1. I've been worried all day about the "flip-flopping" issue
They're hammering it for all they're worth. It even gets me thinking about how Kerry doesn't seem decisive - although, God knows, Bush has "decided" us all over a cliff IMHO.

2. What has me worried is the bad news I've heard about polls lately.
Remember how quickly Iowa Democrats dropped Dean when he was made out to be an irrational screamer? Is it the case that Americans prefer the devil they do know to the one they don't? Are the Republicans going to be able to reach the tipping point in selling Kerry as a llllllliberal flip-flopper?

5. No offense intended.

(Actually, it's a term that goes back to Donald Segretti and All the President's Men.)

4. Well, if this is any indication
They certainly have learned their lesson and plan on fighting back.

The only question is how the messages will be shaped by the media whores. We have had some success on getting them to change or correct things. We'll certainly need to keep up the pressure.

6. one hundred percent right
it's the media, stupid--not you

how I wish the dems would start pounding the hell of of that one

they are the gatekeepers of what the majority of news consumers/electorate gets to see.

they don't spend ridiculous amounts of time on the web, trying to find out what's really going on in the world

9. I have no hope
We're all doomed to 4 more years of bush. War with Syria, Iran and maybe North Korea. This country will resemble the taliban. If the press is on Bush's side he cannot lose.

11. Don't lose hope. Librarians will free us!

This regime has seriously alienated librarians, particularly with the Patriot Act. And these days libraries have computers. F 9/11 has been widely seen and many people who weren't familiar with Michael Moore previously, will check the library for his books, or mention the film to, or within the hearing of, a librarian. Such folks will be immediately referred to Moore's website, where they will learn about DU and they'll never have time for the major media again.

Think positive!

Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 05:39 PM by chimpsrsmarter
and john Kerry is no Mike Dukakis. Just for the record, he was a good guy, he is unfairly demonized.
