Watching MSNBC and I expect Bin Laden to be caught
before the election. They are slowly but surely increasing the chatter on him. For close to the last 3 years they (Bush admin./Media) wanted us to forget all about him, but all of a sudden now there is a lot of talk about him in the news. MSNBC (if I heard them correctly) is claiming that he's been spotted between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and also, one of his top guys has turned himself in. I've been predicting this for months, and told everyone I know my opinion. So, hopefully everyone will put it on the shelf with the rest of Bushco's bullshit the last 4 years, and it will have minimal effect as far as Bush's re-election.

1. They have already caught him
They are just waiting for the right time to display this "catch."

20. Yep, he's dead
yep, he's dead. Been dead a long time.
He's probably in a zillion small pieces
scattered across Afghanastan.

We don't have him already and there will
be no parading him in front of the cameras.

He's dead dead dead.

4. Yeah, that is my opinion, too, but I am talking about what
the news channels are putting out there for the naive people of this country. The kind of people that think if we catch Bin Laden the terrorism problem will be solved forever. Do you think this will have minimal effect or are we screwed?

3. I'll be betting on the dates of
the Dem Convention. That way we could get wall-to-wall coverage of the 'capture' of Bin Laden, instead of hearing what the Democratic Party wants to do for our country.

23. Hey, that's my guess for the Name the date/time/place of obl's
"capture". I said it will be announced at the time of the closing speech and it will be announced he was "found" in Afghanistan (they can't find him in Pakistan without causing a HUUUGGGEEEE shitstorm there).

I don't know when Kerry's closing day speech is scheduled, but I imagine it will be prime-time east coast, maybe 6:15pm give or take 1 hour.

I gotta find that prediction thread - anyone have it saved?

5. Busch knows
...that his chances for "easy" re-election are dashed, Bin laden knows that if Bushco goes his world-wide islamic revolution will falter.

Bush Needs Bin Laden, as Bin Laden needs Bush. Both need each other for power.

11. There is a differenct however
Osama, while wealthy chooses to live in poverty, is a religeouly devout, ( but I question that the murdering is sanctioned in the Q'uran sp?) and Osama is a competant, respected and intelligent leader.

Bush had no qualifications beyond exporting a terrorist invasion of Iraq.
I think he woud have been fine with the Taliban if they had not attacked us.

6. I doubt it ...

The haven't created a new "threat" yet to take Osama's place. Besides this, I think that Osama has been working with Bush's full approval.

7. Are you serious?
That would mean that either Bush was behind 9/11 or that Bin Laden willingly took the blame for it because he works for the Bush admin. That theory is not going to go over well, and there is no way the media would pick it up even IF it was true.

12. I don't remember bin laden ever taking credit for 9*11
What I remember is that he praised it, but denied he was behind it.

Maybe my memory fails me here.

14. This is not impossible.
Given OBL health, he may have chosen the martyr route for his cause and sacrificed his (short) life to BushCo by being the bad guy... and getting caught. Or killed, again, for his cause. Convoluted thinking, but what else is new with the white house criminals these days?

with reference to a piece in The New Republic.

Here's some discussion of the TNR piece by Joshua Micah Marshall, with a link to the article.

a snippet:

...a White House aide told ul-Haq (a Pakistani intel official last spring that "it would be best if the arrest or killing of HVT (high Value Targets) were announced on twenty-six, twenty-seven, or twenty-eight July"--the first three days of the Democratic National Convention in Boston.

10. It does not matter if we have OBL or not
His organization is alive and well able to function with out him.
We are militarily losing or have lost this war.
And I believe this war will be the WAR pResident's undoing.

You can only balme so much on Clinton.

16. His organisation never functioned with him...
in the respect you mean. Bin Laden was never more than a money man and figurehead he NEVER actively engaged in terrorist strikes, merely provided the moral "authority" under which they were planned, organisaed and executed.

If Bin Laden died right now, NOTHING would change - He would STILL be the rallying cry, except this time even more powerfully as he would have attained martyrdom, thus encouraging even more "martydom operations".

Catching Bin Laden would be as bad as killing him, and both of those options would as bad as letting him carry on as he is.

In other words this is a war the US CAN'T win.

17. That is how i see it too.
Bush can stand up on the Capitol Steps and hold up Osma's head on a stick
and it won';t alter anything. He'll just get a few cheers. We can win by just fighting all the EVIL doers in the world. And what does this make us?
Good argument.

15. Repub friend on Bush not caring about bin Laden
Said it was a clever ploy to make bin Laden think the heat was off of him...

that said, I have said for a while now that bin Laden is frozen in carbonite (a la Han Solo) somewhere to be dragged out at the right time...

(Filthy Little Nobodies, in Bushevik Terms, or Fodder Units)

then price is no object.

Oh my yes, youy can just 100% count on the fact that the Illegal Bribe and Kickback money is flowing like cheap wine across the Empire!

as bad as OBL may be, I dont' think the FORCE is with the Empire on this one.

and regarding Chimp Vader... " hokey religeons and NEOCON Storm Troopers are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid "

In a Galaxy far far away, things are beginning to stir. As Yoda used to say, " Wars not make one great" .

That wouldn't be too hard. How would any of us know the difference?
