Faux News responds to "Outfoxed"
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 03:25 PM by scmirage
From the Cablenewser.com website. This is the press-release that Fox issued in response to "Outfoxed". What a bunch of weenies!

"Any news organization that thinks this story is legitimate is opening itself to having its copyrighted material taken out of context for partisan reasons. The illegal copyright infringement actions of moveon.org in cooperation with the New York Times, including “cutting a deal” not to give Fox News Channel adequate time to react, is unprecedented. The New York Times, in taking orders from a George Soros-funded website, Soros, a left-wing billionaire currency speculator who funds many liberal efforts, corrupts the journalistic process. This is the real story. If any news organizations decide to make this an anti-Fox News story, then all of their material becomes fodder immediately for possible out of context and biased documentaries.

The former low level Fox employees are hardly worth addressing. Some of the “sources” for this documentary never worked for Fox News Channel. Some left because of incompetence, and none expressed concern about editorial policy while employees. They represent fewer than 10 employees out of 2,000 over 8 years. Any news organization that believes this story is big and Fox News Channel is a problem, will be challenged by Fox News Channel in the following manner:
If they will put out 100% of their editorial directions and internal memos, Fox News Channel will publish 100% of our editorial directions and internal memos, and let the public decide who is fair. This includes any legitimate cable news network, broadcast network, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and The Washington Post."

2. Is this exactly as it appeared
Edited on Mon Jul-12-04 03:35 PM by RoBear
or did you re-type it? Because there are HUGE errors in grammar/punctuation. I'd love to think it's their own ignorance rather than typos. :nopity:

Anyway, what a bunch of idiots! They can (and no doubt will) respond 24/7 with no chance for counter-rebuttal.

Sleaze-balls.

11. I cut & pasted it from the Cablenewser.com website
so I'm not sure if any errors or Faux's or Cablenewser's.

4. Sound and Fury, Signifying Nothing
You'd think if any of it were actually WRONG they'd point it out, right?

5. That is Stalin-level funny "corrupts the journalistic process"
My GOD, these monsters have no conscience, no shame.

And of course, anyone stupid enough to release 100% of their editorial decsiion memos, doesn't know what Nazi, Commies, and Busheviks think of Liberal Weakness and of the worth of promises made to Enemies of the State.

In other words, Faux is LYING about their challenege as they lie about everything else.

6. Exactly what I said...
"former low level Fox employees are hardly worth addressing"

Too bad there were/are no high profile FAUX news folks brave enough to come out. Unfortunately, low-level types are usually written off as incompetent or disgruntled.

Again, our only hope for this one is for Olbermann to run with it on Countdown.

Great comment about Soros, though. Does it occur to these idiots that the same can be said for Murdoch?

... say this...

" then all of their material becomes fodder immediately for possible out of context and biased documentaries"

.... with a straight face. Everything they say is out of context and biased.

10. Just a 'challenge' no refutation?
Sounds very weak to me. Just ignore the real issue and divert attention lobbing a challenge. Like my grandma used to tell me...'whenever people ask you a question you don't want to answer just ask another question.'
Goes like this: Person: "How are you today?"
Me: "Well, how are you today?" or "Do you really want to know?" "Why?"

It's a great stratgey.
