Bush blocks veteran benefits
Reported on Alternet.org:

"The Retired Pay Restoration Act of 2003 would undo a law under which 'anyone who retires after a full career of military service and draws retirement pay will have that pay reduced, dollar for dollar, for any payment received from the Veterans Administration for permanent service-connected disability.' But since it will cost between $3-5 billion a year, the Bush administration is leaning on Republicans in Congress to block it."

Don't you love the way they support our troops?

2. And we expected any less from our AWOL fearless gutless leader?
Mr. Sock-in-the-Flight Suit?

I hope our veterans and those currently on active duty are paying attention.

3. oh I love it wink wink

I dont think he would be too happy if he were still alive but his comrades who lived are I bet. To think I almost got away with saying that was me at least I thought I did.

4. That is utterly despicable
You can support the troops by waving a piece of colored cloth, but damned if we're going to do anything truly constructive.

I can think of several people who are right now serving in Iraq that I want to see come home. And I want Duh-bya to be there instead.

But he isn't qualified to sweep a sidewalk and get it right on the first try.

5. When
did that change because as I recall when I retired in 1985 it was that way. If you received VA disability your retirement pay was reduced dollar for dollar. I could be mistaken as it did not apply to me so I did not pay a lot of attention to that part of the briefing.
I do not always get back to read these threads so if want feel free to send a private note.

Thanks

6. The bastards
Cutting pay, cutting benefits. All the while increasing wars and casulties. This is just despicable.

More than 1000 injured in Iraq now.

7. They are making it easier for the veterans
who are organizing AGAINST Bush for 2004. It will be the largest organization of veterans who ever assembled AGAINST a president.

Veterans for Kerry.
