What in the hell is a "Morning Devotional"?

My nephew has just started Kindergarten (A Public School) in NC and, low and behold, there's a "Devotional" every morning!

What "prey" tell is that?

I meant nephew. Any more details? Is it compulsory? Is there instruction as to how the time is to be spent? Are the kids required to say anything out loud? Are kids permitted our encouraged to make religious displays or gestures? Very curious. A "moment of silence" is not uncommon in NC, but any specific intruction to kids may be crossing a line.

puts this practice beyond the pale. It is illegal and should be challenged.
