We Report More on What Happens Before Nine A.M. than Most People
do All Day - Over and Over and Over, again. (CNN)

So, I've had my t.v. on CNN all day. I've seen the Iraqi handover probably 1000 times. I've heard everybody on every show talk about it. I've seen pictures of happy Iraqis. Nothing about Matt Maupin.
Not even from the president. I guess he doesn't want to ruin his victorious moment.

I heard this morning about how Bush scored a victory in the Supreme Court. Oops. Now, he's lost in the Supreme Court. They forgot to read the SC decision before telling us about it. Imagine they had done that in 2000. Nothing about Matt Maupin.

I guess the Matt Maupin story would interrupt the incessant repetition of the two story a day quota imposed by CNN. Two stories. Over and over and over again. I guess the public just can't handle any more "news" than that.

God Bless Matt Maupin.

1. It will cause brain damage, you know!
Just stop watching that tripe.

There's more news in 1/2 hour of CBS than in a whole day's worth of CNN. Add a 1/2 hour of BBC World News to that (often found on PBS, btw), and you are far, far ahead.

I refer lots of friends to this site for the freakin' news!
THIS is the place where I find out what the heck is really going on, and it is ALWAYS here first, complete with supporting links.
BTW, I LOVE the rest of this site as well.

I have been wondering almost daily about Pfc Maupin - I thought it was so weird we have heard nothing about him, and sadly you are right - he will be swept under the rug today so BushCo can spin today as Iraqi Independence Day

RIP Matt, we're thinking of you and yours.

3. Your right we do here more, in fact I have extra news here for NC duers.
I am not from NC but today I found something in the politics press releases on yahoo news that people in NC should be aware of, the legislature there is working on something along the lines of allowing third parties to gamble on your life insurance policies.

Here is the link.

Tennessee is the only other state in the union doing this.

7. That is apalling and think you should post this in LBN!!
Why not just let 'investors' follow doctors on their rounds and bet on who and who does not survive their illness for a 'set period' of time...of course the doctors should NEVER be allowed to benefit from the survivablilty of their patients! :grr:

8. I don't believe I can post in LBN
I picked this thread cause I figured I could stay on subject with it. I am new here so I don't believe I can start new threads on this. At least that is what I remember from the rules page.

Full of Media Whores who couldn't report their way out of a paper bag.

Aaron Brown is the best of a sorry lot.

Lots of Old-Timey Conservatives are waking to what a load of BUSH-wah the Imperial Family has sold them.

9. You got that right!
I check DU before I drive to work and listen to NPR on my way in.

I don't know why I bother. I know about every story, usually I know more than they report.

If it is an interview I think of questions the interviewer totally misses (and shout them to my radio).

I'm not that smart, I just read DU.

10. I need my sig line back!
"The secret of propaganada is to simplify complex or complicated things. To make them as simple as possible, as simple that even the less ingenous men can understand what I mean. Simplify. And then, if you have found the form which tells a complicated thing in the simplist way when you have found this form - then, secondly, repeat it. Repeat it every day. Simplify and repitition - thats the secret of modern propaganda." - Fritz Hippler
