Cheney: US hooked up Hussein with Zarqawi
I posted this yesterday, am reposting as I think the statement is quite explosive: Cheney claims that Hussein didn't know al Zarqawi was in Iraq until we told him through a third party:

"Saddam Hussein knew <al Zarqawi> was in Baghdad because we arranged to have that information passed to - to a third country intelligence service."

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,123794,00.html

If, as the administration claims, Zarqawi is the smoking gun indicating a collaborative al Qaeda/Hussein relationship, why would we have to make sure Hussein knew he was even in Iraq? And what the heck are we doing hooking up evildoers with other evildoers?

3. Trying to make our invasion of Iraq acceptable....we need a legitimate
excuse for what we did. If anyone should be tried for war crimes it should be the top 10 levels of this administration. They are the direct links to Al-qaeda, Saddam, drug smuggling and dealing, corporate crimes against US citizens, prisoner abuse, and aiding and abetting rogue nations, including Israel!

4. Of course, the explanation is that they were mortal enemies just like
Hussein and OBL.

But I have to wonder if this is the same "their party intelligence service" that served up the Niger yellowcake documentation.

5. Duh, well, if Cheney says it's so, then it must be so.
For myself, I've not seen any evidence that Zarqawi was even in Iraq until recently.

And I don't believe anything this administration says about Iraq anymore. I need a non-administration source on information, now.

6. The point being, of course
... whether it's true or not, Cheney's statement belies the parallel claims that:

a. Zarqawi and Hussein collaborated
b. We're trying to keep WMD out of international terrorist's hands
