1. Voted other
would love to see Ann Richards on the ticket. Also would be happy with Clark, Edwards, or Graham. Gephart doesn't excite me, but of course I'll cast my vote against the chimp.

3. I want Wesley Clark; but, I believe it will be John Edwards who gets it.
John Edwards voted for the IWR, Wesley Clark did not. John Kerry will not pick someone who voted / would have voted against the war in Iraq.

:-(

15. A Woman would be a Great Move....and Diane Feinstein is someone..
...who could appeal to moderates...while she is one of my Senators and 90% of the time votes the way I would like, she has disappointed me at times appealing to the more Moderate/Right.

8. My heart sez Clark, but my brain says Edwards.
Also my gut. If Clark didn't catch on any better than he did, he ain't Bubba-lite. We need Bubba-lite. Gore failed to clear the "fuck you if I can" hurdle any Dem needs to win against the GOP machine. Why? Because he was insufficiently Bubba-lite.

I'm gonna say something tacky about my fellow Americans. They voted for Kerry in part because of the Harley stunt and the hunting posery pictures and, of course, the macho war record. It was a Yankee version of being Bubba-lite. I doubt he's not enough Bubba-lite to penetrate into Red Country, so Kerry needs a running mate who can. That's why we need Edwards.

10. Wesley Clark.
A little background: I was a definite Dean supporter since August of 2003. But a few things:

1) Dean is from the state right next to Massachussets. I know the South, and pitting them against the North will raise all kinds of grumbling.

2) Edwards vs. Cheney in a debate would be a bloodbath. Mr. Sunny would completely shrivel under the poison glare of Mr. Sneer.

3) Wesley Clark is from Arkansas, and he has military experience. That would go a long way for Kerry (Vietnam) and Clark (he's fucking General!) vs. Bush (AWOL from a dental exam) and Cheney (other priorities.)

How could we lose?

16. I Agree w/ your points & have similar background as a former Deaniac
...However I'm not so sure that Edwards would "completely Shrivel" in a debate w/ Cheney....I do think Clark would do far better in debate w/ Cheney on some points, but not all.

I'd take Clark or Edwards, without necessarily having a preference either way....Personally I think that Clark would make an excellent Secretary of State....I think however Edwards might fare better w/ the South....Either way, I think they would both be good choices.

As a Virginian, I feel obligated to nominate Gov. Mark Edwards (I love the guy), but I'm being selfish and want him in the Senate nex term. ;)

14. uh oh
Speculation is rife about whom John Kerry will choose as his running mate. Newsweek reports that Kerry "is engrossed in the final shortlist of veep picks. Kerry sources say the choice is narrowing to Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and former House Democratic leader Dick Gephardt, and that the candidate remains personally uncomfortable with Sen. John Edwards." I have no idea whether this report is accurate, but if it is, the Democrats are in trouble.

On this list, I'd take any of the choices other than Gephardt and Lieberman with no problems whatsoever.

18. Clark....Clark...Clark
the only person on the shortlist more boring than Kerry is Gephardt. So that is who he'll pick cuz, god forbid, any one should mistake the Democratic Party as engaged and alive!

21. and the only candidate as boring as Gephardt ...
is Wesley Clark. Sorry ... Wes just ain't no ball of fire. His raging ego would crowd Kerry out of the shot ... and he was a Republican till he decided to run for President. Forgive me if I have a hard time trusting "I was a Republican till I saw that it would be politically expedient to become a Democrat because that was where the opportunity lay."

That said, I think Clark could go toe-to-toe with Cheney on foreign policy. But dunno about domestic. Dickie boy is pretty slick.

24. Why would you put Lie-berman and not Dean?
Are you aware how incredibly unpopular Lie-berman is here, or the fact that Dean still has a sizeable following?

kind of a push-poll, IMHO...
