Does the war in Iraq make sense? No! We are over there killing people and being killed by people that we liberated. It is completely nonsensical. But no one seems to notice. The argument is that the Iraqis are better off without Saddam and by God they are going to be better off no matter what.

Ordinarily, I don't resort to gossip-mongering, but since the topic came up...

Begala: Nice guy. Real lightweight, though. Lacks "gravitas."

Carville: A blast to be around. Pretty bright. A bit of a talker (no surprise), but a good guy.

Carlson: Somewhat more soft-spoken off-camera. A pleasure to work with. Very, very smart. Behind the scenes, he's often the one who does the heavy lifting.

Novak: UNBELIEVABLY INCONSIDERATE ASSHOLE. From what I understand, most of the staff hates working with him. He's gruff, ungrateful, condescending, rude, and has an ego to match. Acts like he's God's gift to punditry. Carlson somehow puts up with him. Don't know what Begala and Carville think of him, but I imagine they're not big fans either.

and that when Tucker joined up, Novak didn't consider him sufficiently "conservative." No love lost there. Tucker and Begala are great friends, to the point that Tucker confessed that he was being falsely accused of rape by a woman. Begala put him in touch with Clinton's impeachment attorney to successfully refute the charges. It's very telling that Carlson would trust Begala before his fellow Republicans.
