I say today that we must have
a free and unbiased press. Our country cannot continue without it. So I'm saying we are going to have to take matters into our own hands. Quit reading the're shit and quit listening to the're trash. I go to du for my news.

The first step is to wean ourselves away from corporate infotainment. Leave it to the droids.

.. we've been telling Americans to kill their televisions for 30 years, but it doesn't seem to be working. =(

I think we need more people like Michael Moore exposing the mainstream press for the corporate lapdogs that they are. Discredit the media and hopefully people will beginning looking elsewhere for their news. That, of course, assumes that the 'mainstream' populace actually gives a damn.

3. I have a couple of other places I read also.
Buzzflash.com and whatreallyhappened.com. These three are my daily reading.
Weeking is tbrnews.org, & fromthewilderness.com

There are dozens of others I drop by occasionally.

The best thing about DU is the forum gives you information about things going on right now. Numerous times I've read in time to turn on a TV program.

4. I stopped watching TV years ago.
In my circle of friends I'm considered very well informed. People actually ask ME what is REALLY going on. I get a lot of my news and information from DU. The BEST thing is, I DON'T HAVE TO WATCH THOSE DAMN COMMERCIALS ANY MORE!!!

Oh, and I CONTRIBUTE $$$ to DU, every quarter, because it IS worth it!
