How I know the blackout wasn't a terrorist act.....
If there were a .000001% chance that it was, Bush would be yowling about why we need to find those responsible and smoke them out...

He would absolutely jump at the opportunity to prop up his sagging poll numbers with the hint of a new terrorist attack.

1. Yeah, but. . .
it would make him look very bad if another attack was allowed to occur on his watch.

2. And consider this:
Even if it had been a terrorist act, it would not be acknowledged as such by the White Haus. Reason? bu$h is on vacation.

Can't have him looking like an uninvolved idiot again, now can we? Some people might catch on this time!

:grr:

3. How I know that if it was a terrorist act they wouldn't tell us...
If it was a terrorist attack, there is a 100% chance that they'll cover it up, because it shows just how vulnerable we are and would probably lead to a panic if the public found out it was a terrorist attack.

4. But, but, we know it wasn't terrorism cause we saw it on TV.
All of the newsfolk told me that WE DON'T KNOW what happened but WE KNOW it wasn't a terrorist attack. And I saw the Preznit say the same thing...I'm so relieved.

5. Can anyone explain
why terrorists would cut the power to the eastern seaboard but then do nothing else?

Not effective terrorism, is it?

This is a technical glitch. It's happened before, it will happen again.

7. The question is why are we discounting ANY possibility?
I don't think it was terrorism either but why are we dismissing that as a possibility when we haven't determined a cause yet? It's just typical of the news that is reported in this day and age...scarce on fact and heavy on propaganda. It really inhibits the ability of the public to make informed judgements, which by the way is intentional.

Thats what I was thinking when a couple of hours after the blackout ,they where saying they are pretty sure it was not a terrorist attack .I thought ,no kidding ,what kind of attack would that be? Now if a bunch of other things started to happen after the lights went out, then maybe.

12. To provide confusion and cover for ....
whatever else they are trying to do. For example, relocating stinger missiles smuggled into the country.

This could also apply to activities surreptitiously done by our government. The power-outage makes everything chaotic. People are much less likely to notice anything out of the ordianry because everything is out of the ordinary.

10. Unequivocal PROOF that it WAS a terrorist attack:
Associated Press reports that President Bush said "One thing I think I can say for certain is that this was not a terrorist act." (/sarcasm)

11. Military can knock out power grids
I believe our military has the capability to release an electr-magnetic pulse that can knock out a power grid. That explains why Awol
would know it was not an attack and would explain why no one can find the source.

Why they did it ? Maybe some goof off hit the activate button ?
