2. I'd sue if I were Grey Davis and sue Enron in a civil suit.
RECALL the RECALL!

11. Maybe Time for Another Recall
Now that we have gotten to hear the Enron tapes, perhaps people will become a bit
more concerned about the Gropenator's meeting with them.

5. I say...
go for a hearing and also for Gray Davis to sue. Gov. Groper needs to be investigated as well and also would love to see how far the investigation goes--will it lead to the very top--Ken Lay, Cheney, The Chimp, et al.???? The tapes they've been showing is credible stuff to bring everyone involved down! As a native Californian, I'm very angry and disgusted at what these greedy low-life pigs did to us. Time for payback!!

6. I'm for it so why aren't our elected officials doing this?
My assemblyman is a Repuke and has a cushy job on the Shwollenpecker's administration, so I can't badger him, but for Californians who have Democrats in the Assembly and Senate, you should badger them to do this.

7. Oh, Gropenfuhrer and the Imperial Family are guilty guilty guilty
But who would have the balls to risk their reputations and probably their LIVES to do the investigation?

I have always said that the floor of the Imperial Senate would be slick with blood before a member of the Imperial Family would be tried, more killed before a conviction.

And who in the Imperial Senate, besides Wellstone...who coincidentally...died, would have the strength and courage to do that?

<cue crickets chirping>

8. I can't tell you how incredibly and utterly
pissed I am at this whole thing. Tapes surface confirming what Davis and so many others were saying --- that we were being scammed by Ken Lay and his boys -- and it's like no big deal. I think Boxer is fighting to get the state's money back from Enron, but I thought there would be more chants of "I told you so" once the truth came out. Guess having average citizens paying up the ass (in the words of those bastard Enron traders) for electricity and bankrupting a state in the process, resulting in the overthrow of an elected governor is no longer newsworthy.

9. Sadly...
though, star-strucked stupid Californians would rally behind Gov. Groper if he's investigated. Gov. Groper was voted on celebrity and not on policies or politics---Bunch of dumb-ass Californians jumping up and down screaming "We have the Terminator as our governor!!" Sooooo disgusting and scary--kinda "Hilteresque"!

12. Well, as a fellow Californian...
I have to say that I think most people (and I live in a pretty liberal section of our already liberal state) seem fairly oblivious, not only to the story, but to it's implications. First off, the media isn't giving this thing any more than the cursory page-6 small headline shrift, even though it's easily some of the biggest news going down right now. (They obviously know which side their bread is buttered on.) Beyond that, though, I think folks' attention spans are just too short. It's too much mental work, apparently, to make the connections between, say, the GOP trying to overturn a presidential election (1996)to Enron shafting a state that consistently elects Democrats, to the GOP Stealing a Presidential Election, to Dick Cheney's secret energy meetings, to the Democrat governor taking the stink for the so-called "energy crisis" (along with "Loony California Environmentalists"-- and as one of those, I'm still waiting for my *@%$*%ing apology) ...to a GOP candidate who had his own secret meeting with Ken Lay walking away with a "populist" recall heavily financed by GOP goons.

I think if Californians were paying anything close to the sort of attention this thing merits, we'd be screaming in the street for ALL the folks involved to be doing perp walks. Unfortunately I don't see it.

And I'm certainly not "star-strucked". Most of Arnold's movies have sucked, anyway.

13. Good to hear...
a voice of sanity and reason!! Well here in L.A.--unfortunately, we have too many star-strucked, brain-dead people who voted for Arnie! And the scary thought is we may end up with another term of Gov. Groper--the nightmares neve seize to end!!

Let's run the Meathead in '06.

Oh... but, speaking of Arnie-- he certainly doesn't seem to be in any big hurry to affiliate himself with Dumbya, these days, does he?

14. What got the recall going was the blame the republican's placed on Davis
Edited on Tue Jun-15-04 07:41 PM by Zinfandel
for a month or two of blackouts, that we now KNOW was very significantly helped along by greedy Enron, supported by Kenny' Boy's friends in the White House, who wanted to see democrat Davis get the blame. Do you recall the many pig republican's like Limbaugh were calling him "Gray-Out" Davis? It stuck. They despise CA because it votes Democrat...And refuse to help Davis and CA out when Davis begged Bush for energy caps.

BushCo just said no and allowed "Kenny Boy" Lay & Enron to run wild...I'm sure BushCo received their kickbacks.

I'm also sure, Rove/Bush/Cheney were laughing their asses off as Enron manipulated the Ca energy market and stole tens of billions of dollars and then the greedy assholes fucked over their own stockholders...But the confusion of 9-11 was suppose to hide all the illegal accounting, etc..Surprisingly, it didn'. Sothe seventh largest American corporation just bailed out and sent the billions to offshore accounts.

And when Davis won the election in 2002 anyway (by 5 1/2 points) the republicans (with bucks from the WH, I'm sure) started their recall.

16. I've followed this Enron thing since day one (the beginning of
2001 when we were having the blackouts out here)-Plus the fact my brother worked for these criminals (Enron) and lost EVERYTHING he had (he, as were most of his collegues, are honest, hardworking folks who had no clue what was going on). Anyhow, I'm furious on several accounts: 1. My brother lost everything, 2)California (my home) was horribly ripped-off, 3) I LOST MY GOVENOR WHO WAS FAIRLY ELECTED AND WAS TRYING HIS HARDEST TO TELL EVERYONE WHAT ENRON WAS DOING AND NO ONE BELIEVED HIM AND THEN HE'S YANKED OUT OF OFFICE(yes, he should file suit against someone), and 4)KEN LAY AND JEFFREY SKILLING ARE STILL WALKING THE STREETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once again, time for a xanax.
