in comparison to shrub. He usually didnt stutter, etc. i'm thinking that the fundies are gonna have a hard time convincing people Bush is Reaganesque.

2. Maybe we should send Jr. to acting school?
Since we've given up on him being a uniter, or compassionate, or any of that other bullsh*t.

Instead of good.

6. I agree.
I think that Reagan's death may just cost Bush the election. The GOP will be singing Reagan's praises every opportunity they get until Election Day, and Bush just pales in comparison. I thought it was interesting that Fox kept showing bits of Reagan's D-Day speech in 84, even though it made Bush's from this year look amateurish. You'd think that the cable networks would want to increase Bush's chances by minimizing their Reagan coverage, but that obviously was not the case.

7. I have never looked at or heard * except in unavoidable circumstances.
I can't stand to look at or listen to * since I actually get sick to my stomach when that face or voice comes over the airwaves. You can't help but get some glimpses and sound bytes if you listen to radio or watch TV but I turn the channel immediately or mute and look away when * comes on. The phrase I can still hear in my head is," I'm * and I approve this message".....are you feeling a little sick right now? You can't help but have an awful reaction to *. Its going to be very difficult for me to watch "Ferhinheit 9-11" because there will be so much footage of *....but its the least I can do to show support for Moore and our cause...infact buy as many tickets as your budget allows...if this movie is very successful what will the message be to movie theaters...open up your wallets....put your money where your mouth is, give tickets away to people sitting on the fence.
I got way off topic there...back to Reagan...I didn't agree with his policies but I would always watch him and listen to what he had to say...yes he was Presidential....not some nit-wit that was all hat and no cattle.

9. I thought it was just me.
I could actually listen to Ronnie on TV without wincing. Not possible with Dubya. I have to turn him off or mute - he just makes me crazy.

10. wrong. when he didn't have a script he was a stammering fool
he was an embarrassment. Whenever he had to answer questions off the cuff, I was always very embarrassed that he was the president of the US

He was an idiot. Check this thread to see some of the incredibly stupid things he said

11. Uh-HUH! This is EXACTLY what just about everybody else is saying.
This is what everybody, everywhere is thinking. This is the overriding impression that last week's Reagasm left behind. This point was driven home again and again, over and over and over and over and overandoverandoverandoverandover, all week long, throughout the Reagan orgy. All the retrospectives and spinnings and incessant drum-beatings, that's what everyone was left with. A subtle message, but as clear as crystal. It reminded everybody of the good old days. The glory days of the gop - that ARE NOT EVIDENT NOW. Not by a LONG shot. All it did was underscore how badly bush DOES. NOT. MEASURE. UP. He just doesn't. He's a VERY poor, VERY cheap imitation. He doesn't even qualify as an imitation. He's tinny, thin, flat, and VERY small by comparison. SMALL. EVERYBODY, EVERYWHERE got a good dose of reminder on this one, all week long.

We should all be saying little prayers of thanks to God - last week was truly a gift. To US. NOT to the bushies or the republi-CONS. Last week was their worst nightmare. They should be doing everything they can to keep bush AWAY from all things Reagan, lest more people be reminded of the poor comparison.

That said, LET'S NOT GET COMPLACENT. THIS ISN'T WON YET. It IS looking better, I must say. But it's NOT in the bag yet.
