Just got in mail cheesy survey from Dean campaign asking for money...
Gosh, wonder where he got my name?

Could it be that Dr. Dean himself has bought lists from the DNC like the OTHER CANDIDATES who can afford to do so?

To wit: "You are among the very first to be contacted as part of this effort. You were selected for participation because of your recognized political leadership and support of Democratic candidates and programs."

"I sent it to you because frankly I think your opinions reflect the Democratic Party's values better than most of the candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for President."

What the hell does that mean? Why would Dean unnecessarily insult the other Democratic candidates in a fundraising letter?

1. So what?
If you don't like it, put it in the shredder. I've been getting email and snail mail from the other candidates too. If you're a registered voter, you could be on everyone's mailing list.

Sheesh. Haven't we got bigger issues to give our attention to?

:eyes:

11. This is in response to "Kerry did BUY small donor DNC List" post below...
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=108&topic_id=16485&mesg_id=16485

And to point how unproductive it is of his campaign to insult the other Democratic candidates in his "survey". This seems unwise to this Democrat.

7. Judging from the other responses to this.....
Honestly, is there anything that anyone anywhere can criticize Dean or the Dean campaign about that doesn't get your backs up against the wall? Honestly, I didn't think this initial post was that bad.

8. Sorry...
But the days of passively sitting and smiling blankly while stupid nitpicking goes on and idiotic insults are being flung are over.

If a valid criticism is made or question is raised, count on a reasoned response. But stupidity will be met with a quick slapdown... and the original post here was nothing but sheer stupidity.

12. I just wonder what you guys are going to do if and when...
He's the nominee and every single media outlet is attacking him high, low, left, right, and about every thing he does and says big, small or otherwise and there is no "reply" button.

If you're upset because someone posted on a messageboard that they got annoyed at receiving a fundraising letter from a candidate they don't support, you are all likely going to blow a gasket once the general election campaign starts.

The same goes for all the candidates supporters. Reading this board sometimes makes me weep for our chances in '04

16. And I agree with that sentiment 100%...
I think by and large most of the sh*t that gets argued about on here is petty beyond belief.

But a brief scan of that Kerry thread that he pointed out wherein he was criticized for the same thing, I didn't notice many Dean supporters jumping up and saying we should be concentrating on the important stuff.

20. Well, for one thing,
I don't even read most of the threads bashing candidates, Dean or otherwise, and I'm betting a lot of other people don't either. As a matter of fact, I only caught this one as a kind of fluke, but it annoyed me more than usual.

Oh well... back to work.

15. Not much of anything
I expect any and every Democrat (except Lieberman) to be trashed by the rightwing media.

I'm just sick of it on DU. People bitch at me because I will not even consider ever voting for Lieberman for anything, then the same types start twenty gozillion anti-Dean threads.

Bah...

Edited on Thu Aug-14-03 08:55 PM by Yupster
they would just ask for it, instead of disguising the request as a survey or invitation or something else?

Edit because if you just miss one letter, disguising becomes sisguiding and you scratch your head.
