1. I did
I thought it was demystifying. Who was the girl he was interviewing? I came in after the intro.

2. The woman is a Yale graduate
who is determined to "demystify" the Bones.

She doesn't believe there should be secret societies involved in government.

7. She also seems to have missed the point
These guys are tapped for S&B because they're future movers and shakers, not because S&B will make them movers and shakers. They're already there, both by birth and achievement. The one glaring exception is Bush, who was obviously tapped because he was a legacy member and not for any of his innate qualities.

As for the silence, every adult frat survivor I've met is silent on the initiation, except to say it was the most deeply humiliating experience of their lives. I doubt S&B is any different.

The seeming cohesion of these guys is due to the entitlement conferred by their class, not by membership in a fraternity. They are equally loyal to nonbrothers of privilege from other Ivies.

sometime ago. I think she's still a member although she doesn't post. Alexandra Robins. Could anyone resurrect the archives with her posts?

9. Ok, I saw it. I saw stuff about it before....my feeling is
that it's an elitist little snot nosed group trying to promote an uppity agenda that might make leaders out of some of it's memebers one day.

I think all types of orgs like these are creepy including the Mason's/shriners and the Mormons with their secret ceremonies....among others....

11. Reminds me of Animal House
Thank you sir, can I have another.

I don't know if I consider it just a frat organization. I considered the 60 min interview kind of a whitewash.

Somehow it just doesn't seem American, to have governance by a set of 'elites'. Seems more like hereditary bestowment(if thats the word).

Look at what we have had for leaders. Are these guys really worth what they are paid. I notice they seem to think so. But if you really think about the decisions they have made, they seem to be idiots.

Same with CEO's, is it they are that good, or are they just in a position to get the money.

Maybe all this stuff in business magazines about 'movers and shakers' is just so much bull, a thinly disguised circle jerk of self-promotion. Politics is the same thing.

Leadership by mediocracy reinforced by a weak reporting/analysis publishing conglomerate.

Look at Rice, she is supposed to be one smart lady, yet I haven't seen anything that would warrant that conclusion except a bunch of letters after her name. Would anybody say they see any intelligence in any of her decisions the past 3 1/2 years? I am sure her resume is impeccable.

If this is the cream floating to the top, then I would say there are 'other' criteria for selection of these people to certain postings. Maybe membership in a closed organization is that criteria, not overall value.

12. I can't believe the truth of Pledging (sexual acts) seems to have never
been reported mainstream. Millions of students have gone through these acts but yet it seems very few people know what takes place? Limbaugh accidently? let the coachroaches out of the bag. Fraternities do to each other everything which Limbaugh said went on at Abu Ghraib. It's true. Why haven't any American Whores picked up on these comments? How can I know this but professional 'whore' journalists don't know or don't report this? From my first experiences with Frats in 1975 where they made Pledges masturbate in front of each other, on each other, and on ritual objects to 1985 where I know another Frat on the other side of the country not only engaged in anal sex rights but they 'secretly' continued within the brotherhood long after graduation. No, I don't know every Frat but of the four I came in contact with all four had these rights, so does it merit an investigation of the Skull n Bones and others?

13. Well, I doubt that the murders and dog maulings are a feature of most
frat hazing, although deaths do occasionally happen, from booze funnel stunts and the like.
