Let's go a bit easier on the FReepers please...

... apparently, it's a form of mental illness.

A study funded by the US government has concluded that conservatism can be explained psychologically as a set of neuroses rooted in "fear and aggression, dogmatism and the intolerance of ambiguity".

... All of them "preached a return to an idealised past and condoned inequality".

... The authors also peer into the psyche of President George Bush, who turns out to be a textbook case. The telltale signs are his preference for moral certainty and frequently expressed dislike of nuance.

"This intolerance of ambiguity can lead people to cling to the familiar, to arrive at premature conclusions, and to impose simplistic cliches and stereotypes," the authors argue in the Psychological Bulletin.

5. The Problem is Not the Conservatives
but the society that accepts their illness as normal and accepted behavior. Only when the nation realizes the consequences of 'fear and aggression' have destroyed our way of life will these people be revealed and locked up for the sociopaths that they are. We can only hope.

I may or may not be responding to you individually...but to the attitudes of the Green-bashers on this site.

Discussion Forums are a place to get exposure to diverse ideas and sometimes even get slammed when you present bad ones. The point isn't to cheer-lead.

If that's what you think the purpose of this place is, I suggest the mods kick all the Greens off. Greens are more interested in truth, not so much in unity for the sake of unity. When we see illogical bullshit, we'll say it. If your position has merit, you'll win the argument. If not, you'll resort to kicking us off and pretending you did.

I was being sarcastic about the FReeper propensity for playing the victim.

I love the Greens.

Especially when they vote for the Democratic presidential candidate.

OH P.U. !

:puke:

Nader is the epitome of 'illogical bullshit'... Oh, that's right he's not a 'member' of the Green Party. Now there's some logic for ya. :eyes:

12. How about this for "fear and aggression, dogmatism and the intolerance..."
I went over to FreeRepublicans.com to see if they had a reaction to the Bushistas cutting the pay of US troops in Iraq, and I find this:

"Families of US toops in Iraq launch campaign for their return"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/964302/posts

I can't believe the vile, contemptible remarks these Freepers are making about the relatives of US troops fighting in Iraq. Their hate is absolutely disgusting!

Some excerpts:
I mean, it's like these folks are talking about third graders or something, dont they understand that its MEN (and Women) at WAR?????

From Stan Goff of Raleigh, North Carolina, a 26-year career soldier and retired Special Forces master Sergeant: "You know, in all the administration's fictions of weapons of mass destruction and nuclear programs and ... the phony al-Qaeda connections that are being exposed as fabrications, this is not the rule of law," he said.

From a Freeper in response to Sgt. Goff: This former soldier should be ashamed of himself. How were the reports of WMD's fictions? Iraq had WMD's, they have used them in the past, and even the U.N. knows they existed. ?????-not only is this statement uncalled for, but inaccurate too.

So, send them home with dishonorable discharges, then see how they relate to their loving families. Not a pretty picture. Heheheh.

You've got to understand what it's like for these military families. They don't have an agenda or a rabid, foaming hatred for George Bush. They are doing this for the children.....ok, so the children are technically aduts and have had 9 t 14 weeks of combat training and are carrying some very deadly weapons.....but they're still Momma's little baby and need protecting from that lying, unelected, conservative dufus. Nope, no agenda here./sarcasm

My son's in Mosul and I absolutely despise these loathsome pieces of fecal matter who claim to be military families. They just offer encouragement to the creeps that ambush our troops. I would like my son home soon and in good health and these whimpering fools make that more difficult.

Man, are these people sick or what???
