Check in if you've been married fewer times than Rush Limbaugh
I know that since I'm a liberal, I'm supposedly against family values and everything that is perceived as good and wholesome by Rush and the wingnuts.

But in the wake of Mr. Family Values' third divorce, I just wanted to make a point that I've been married two fewer times than El Pigboy has, and I'm still married.

BTW, so has Bill Clinton. (Ha Ha!!!!)

So check in if you've been married fewer times than the voice of "family values" conservatives.

69. Fourth! But who's counting?
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 08:03 PM by Caliphoto
Do the two that lasted less than a year count? If Brittney can do it, why can't I? Rather than think of myself as flawed, or afraid of committment, I like to think of myself as free-spirited!

BTW.. This marriage is going strong at 5 years.. a record for me! And it's blissful! Fourth time's a charm! :loveya:

31. Bunny, we could if I moved up to Canada.. But that's not the point.
That fat, pill popping bastard is an opponent of gay marriage. Because, it would "threaten the sancitity of marriage". Meanwhile, he's on marriage # 4 and can get married again just like that.

Honey, it's the nauseating hyprocrisy of these people. And here it is again, for all the world to see.

Yes, it is Doug. And thank you for remembering. :-) And thank you for the comment.

32. I know hon. It's a crying shame.
I have every confidence that it will someday change though. Maybe it will be too late for you and Doug, but Americans are ultimately fair-minded people. We will eventually see the error of our ways, and the road will be paved for our friends in the GLBT community to finally take their seat at the table.

38. Bunny, it is going to happen. It's generational, for one thing.
Younger Americans are in favor of gay marriage. Plus, it's already...slowly...happening. The opposition in this country is slowly beginning to drop. And we should thank people like Gavin Newsom and the Massachusetts Supreme Court for helping it happen. :-)

17. Still married & going strong
and this is on the first try!

I did have a pilonidal cyst, though, but I never used it to avoid military service and then go on to say how we ought to blow everything up so long as I could stay safe at home and get really fat and abuse prescription drugs while saying that more people should go to prison for drugs. I just got it removed.

So I guess I'm not much like the Vulgar Pigboy after all.

may not have been as fortunate, they also aren't hypocrites like the Repugs. Dems who have struggled with family matters generally aren't running around telling others about "family values" and criticizing others' lives.

54. Same number of marriages as Bill Clinton
but only 11 years.

My extremely liberal sister has been married 13 years to the same guy, and it's her first too.

My slightly-right-leaning sister has gone home to mother four times, but remains married after 25 years. (Okay, okay, three of those four times were during the Reagan Administration, and she brought the husband and children with her.)

My conservative-but-not-quite-a-freeper sister is on her second husband.

My freeper brother can't even make it to the altar; he's been engaged to six women, all of whom dumped his ass. (One of them dumped him because he's a freeper; the other five because he's a long-haul truck driver who's never home. We're in the process of attempting to find him a freeper girlfriend with a Class A CDL.)

Only liberals can maintain a marriage.

who I have been with for 25 years, and married to for 12.

We're both athiests - we got married only because we wanted to have children - we knew we'd always be together and didn't need to get married.

But, realistically, in order to maximize resources and legal protections for our future children we got married (only 60 guests, and DAMN what a party!!!).

2 kids later -no more- we're happy and still married.
