Bush Also Doesn't Remember!
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 10:11 AM by Skinner
BuSAVANNAH, Ga. (Reuters) - Facing criticism for methods used to interrogate terrorism suspects held by the United States, President Bush insisted on Thursday he had always ordered questioning methods to remain within the law.
"What I have authorized is that we stay within U.S. law," Bush told reporters in Savannah, Georgia, when asked what measures of interrogation he would authorize if the United States had a terror suspect in custody it knew was planning an attack.

"I'm going to say it one more time. In fact, maybe I can be more clear. The instructions went out to our people to adhere to law," said Bush, speaking at the end of a Group of Eight industrial nations summit.

"That ought to comfort you. We're a nation of law. We adhere to laws. We have laws on the books. You might look at those laws, and that might provide comfort for you. And those were the instructions from me to the government."

The abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. troops, revealed in April, has raised wider questions over the interrogation of prisoners in U.S. custody during a period of heightened concerns over terror attacks.

4. All the More Reason for Bush to be Prosecuted for Crimes against Humanity
Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 10:51 PM by seventhson
Bush said:

"That ought to comfort you. We're a nation of law. We adhere to laws. We have laws on the books. You might look at those laws, and that might provide comfort for you. And those were the instructions from me to the government."

OF COURSE Bush would not (openly) TELL people to break the law. Even though he is an idiot he would have to know that would not work.

What he did is: he told Asscrack to give him a "Legal opinion" that what he was doing was legal or that international laws like the Geneva Convention do not have to be followed or do not apply to Bush (a clear violation of his oath of office and an iumpeachable offense.)

The grounds for Asscrack (and Bush et al) declaring that torture and human rights abuses and crimes against humanity were "legal" for Bush that I heard today on the radio (AAR) was that the advice said these laws might not be "Constitutional" (I.e. nothing in the constitution prohibits Bush from torture or requires Bush follow the Geneva convention so therefore it is "legal" for him to order people tortured)

This is the most specious and transparently evil legal argument I have ever heard.

If Bush is not toast under our legal sytstem then our legal system and constitution can no longer protect us and are no longer functioning or working. Bush has killed them and we have permitted it.

Only November will redeem us. If we fail in November the US Constitution is as worthless as used toilet paper and we citizens will be even more valueless than used toilet paper.

Bush should be impeached now and never pardoned.

7. The Law states very clearly that Presidential Papers must be released
after no more than twelve years after the President has left office. Where are those Papers?
