I just donated $100 to John Kerry because another DUer told the DNC
to shove off!

Anybody else up for donating some cash to Kerry because some DUer wants anybody but the Democrat to get votes so that Bush gets a second term?

Please donate here:

1. Doin' what we can from our house
We've donated more than we ever did before, but what with the outsourcin' and the fact that we must have misplaced that tax cut, because we never did find it, we're hurting this year. I hope that we can give more before it's over.

She's pretty good.

Do you know anything about Christine Cegelis (running against Henry Hyde)? She's been at several of the events I've attended, and she's pretty decent as well. She needs to be bit more polished in my opinion, but anybody willing to take on Hyde gets some respect from me.

45. That would be sweet.
Yeah, like I said, she lacks a bit of polish but is certainly giving it a go and deserves support.

I was pissed as hell at the Roselle parade. She had a float (with a sweet convertible, btw) with us, but was missing some of her supporters. The Dean for America group out there had promised to support her and specifically committed to marching in this parade with her. Not a goddamn one of them showed up. That kind of crap just kills me.

I really hope others keep trying. I was encouraged because I found more coworkers today who were willing to talk politics and how bad Bush is for all of us.

That's the kind of response to a post I like to see. I'm gonna my contribution too. Whenever somebody posts that they've just told them to "shove off" we'll contribute something more.

23. Get more bang for your Bush Kickin' Bucks
Don't forget DNC can continue sponsoring advertising for Kerry after the Democratic Convention, whereas once Kerry has accepted the nomination, his "war chest" is closed, but Bush doesn't have to close his until he accepts the Republican nomination FIVE WEEKS LATER.

You can get more bang for your buck by making a donation to the DNC through this link:

https://www.democrats.org/support/match.html?dsc=NETA206-60

They currently have a matching fund drive.

What a wuss the Dem Party has become - won't even fight for what we NEED! Won't even fight for what the party has stood for! Won't even fight for what the party means! Won't even fight for democratic values!

Disappointing and disgusting.

My sig line says it all.

#2 What we NEED is Bush to be gone.

#3 Only the Democratic nominee, regardless of who that nominee is, can accomplish #2.

57. I think he's referring to the scare tactics used by the DLC...
The typical scare tacitcs:

-a very distasteful ad from AFJHPV (Americans for Healthcare and Progressive Values) a.k.a. "DLC" scaring people into believing that if Dean was elected Osama would kill us all

-The DNC chairman, Terry Mccauliffe, endorsing Kerry for president REPEATEDLY after the first primary. (Even though as DNC chairmain he is supposed to remain neutral)

-Media chroinies with interests rooted in the DLC fucking Dean as well as others and saying noone has a chance against Bush besides Kerry. Dean - 40% positive media coverage leading up to the Iowa primary.
Kerry-98% positive, Edwards - 100% positive. Hard to compete with those numbers.

-Urging Clark to run solely for the purpose to combat Dean's movement. See Charlie Rose interview 2/12/04 where Clark himself admits that he was approached by members of the DLC/DNC and asked to run as the anti-Dean candidate

The pundits claim that Dean's "rage" did him in....No he was assassignated in broad daylight....

But of course as long as your interests are served, you could care less right????

58. But here is the truth
The DNC and the voters were right. If Dean was the candidate right now, there is no way the Democrat would be 6 points - to even in the polls. We would have suffered a massive defeat. I like Dean, he's a good man, he is just not what we need right now.

59. So says you....
#1) People like a person who will stick to his guns. Not a flip-flopper. (That's why the race is still close).
#2) Dean out of any candidate had the highest numbers with Republicans & independents. Prior to the Iowa onslought he was the candidate who fared the best against George Bush in a 1 on 1 matchup, not Kerry
#3) Dean would have never have had a problem matching or even surpassing GW's warchest.
#4) Dean would have made Nader a non-factor.
#5) Anti-War candidate would resonate best with voters at this point because of the direction the war has gone

61. Why didn't he win then?
If Dean were the unbeatable candidate you say he is, then why didn't he WIN? I'll tell you why. He didn't win because he's not electable on the national level at this time. Nothing more complicated than that. The purpose of the primaries is to find the person who gets the most votes, and that's exactly what Kerry did. Get over it and get to work on November.

You can fantasize all you like about what Dean would have done if he were President, but the rest of us have to live in the real world: we've got a choice between Kerry and Bush. If you (or any other Dean supporters) aren't on board in getting W the hell out, then I have little use for your complaints about the primaries.

60. I disagree with that, but....
regardless of how or why Kerry won, or more importantly how I feel about Kerry as the nominee, donating money to, working on his campaign, and voting for John Kerry is the ONLY REALISTIC WAY TO DUMP THE CHIMP!

Hell, at this point in the game, if Lieberman had won I'd be donating money to him! I think that says even more than saying I'd vote for a rock or a steaming pile of dog shit had they been nominated!

48. I've never donated before, but I have this year.
And I gave a sizeable amount.
--

There is another angle to giving now, versus later:

Republicans LOVE their money. They know money can win this election, and they are getting skiddish about the money Kerry/DNC is raising. If they think they are going to waste their money by donating to a losing candidate because we're out-donating them, then they are not as likely to donate. Bottom line, if they can't bribe a winning candidate, there's no point in placing the bribe.
