That's my opinion, anyway.

Plus, the Busheviks let the guard down so that their #1 Hated Place would be hit, fearful, cowed, etc. Now it's time for old #2 (though maybe after gay marriage, San Francisco has leapt up to #1 hated by the Busheviks and al-Qaeda alike) to get theirs.

Plus, an October (or late September) LIHOP makes the California Presidential Election close enough to steal, though it will be much more difficult now that the Touchscreens have been run out of town.

Mind you, I am not wishing for it to happen, and I would be pleased to be wrong.

But Raygun dying on cue (which I predicted the timeframe 3+ YEARS ago!) has me worried.

The problem is that the BFEE has successfully "demonized" everyone
that lives near SF as being homosexual tree-hugging liberals. The
screed of Hannity and Coulter and their ilk has crept into the
mainstream of the republican party, allowing some repug office
holders to make inane stupid stmts which demostrate their hatred
for everyone in the state (at least near the coast, and not Simi
Valley or Orange County), ESPECIALLY us in the bay area.

So if you believe in LIHOP (and I do), and you believe in Oct surprise
(and I do), then a "terrorist attack attempting to influence the
election" is very likely (even if it's NOT terrorists, or terrorist
working at the passive invitation of the administration). And the
MOST likely target is one where the dehumanized population of liberals
live and work... so my best guess is SF or LA, with a likelihood of
SF. Dirty bomb linked to the disappeared radiological from Iraq
would be the "perfect storm" for the BFEE, solving a number of
problems in one act (link terrorists to Iraq, show * as a "strong
leader on terror", blah blah).

8. Not news to me.

I'm certainly aware of all your reasons, and Tom_Paine's too. Believe me, I've followed it quite closely for several years now, partly out of mere self-interest. I don't want to give the impression that I'm blaming the messenger. *sigh* I just wish it wasn't so obvious.

One potential comfort, and it's very small, is the fact that there's so much biotech and defense-related labs around here, they might not want to mess with it. Other than that, my honey and my best friend both work right downtown. I don't live too far from downtown and I work even closer.

I so wish that I could dismiss LIHOP or MIHOP out of hand... I've been trying, and somehow I can't.



ON EDIT: But I fail to see how "keeping my head down" is going to protect me from a dirty bomb! :-)
