What Does Pro-War and Anti-War Mean?
I hear these terms thrown around alot pretty loosely. Can somebody put them in the context of:

1. disarmament
2. unilateralism
3. pre-emption
4. imminent threats
5. inspections/UN process
6. regime change
7. the "rush to war"

I find the figure of John Kerry fascinating because he is at the center of alot of confusion over these terms. Basically, he supported #5 to achieve #1, but disagreed with #2, 3, 4, 6, and 7.

His controversial vote was, to him, a form of support for #1 - a position he has taken since 1997. However, the resolution he supported pressured Bush, but failed to adequately stop him from pursuing #2,3,4, 6 and 7. Does that make Kerry pro-war? Does that mean he wants it "both ways." If so, what are the two "ways?"

You don't have to directly address Kerry's position. I am more interested in what constitutes a pro-war or anti-war position. For instance, if you support active disarmament rather than a policy of containment, does that make you pro-war? After all, that was Howard Dean's position (usually), and he is still generally considered to hold an anti-war position.

What makes someone pro-war or anti-war?
