more re: Wes Clark's phone call on 9-11
Here's a post from a private political message board regarding the phone call Wes Clark got from someone on 9-11, trying to influence his commentary so it would implicate Saddam Hussein in the WTC attack.

03:34pm Aug 13, 2003 PST (# 3657 of 3658)

Just a guess -- but at the time of 911 David Frum was both one of Bush's speech writers, working in the Press Office at the WH, and he was also still connected with a Canadian think tank in DC. While Frum was full time in the White House in January 2002 when he apparently invented the "Axis of Evil" phrase -- prior to 911 I believe it was a part time temp appointment, which became a non-appointment when Frum's wife claimed David's authorship on the phrase. I have no idea if Frum and Clark knew each other -- but knowing how White House communications works, I would imagine they would put people on monitoring the networks right away on 911 -- and making efforts to shape the product. Frum is the only one I can think of in the White House at that time who had Canadian connections.

If it was Frum who called Clark -- I think the question would be, who on the White House staff directed him? Probably not Bush -- he was still flying around in Air Force One on his 911 tour of bolt holes, and I doubt if he would have been directing communications. I don't see Frum as a self-starter. He was not part of the inner Bush Circle, but perhaps someone around Cheney such as Mary Madalyn or perhaps Karen Hughes or Cheney himself. I have thought about this little puzzle for the past couple of weeks -- and Frum is the only one who meets criteria."

2. Well.....
if they were already looking for a reason to invade Iraq...and everything indicates they were...he could have jumped on this without a direct order.

Also Bush can make calls from Airforce one. Or wherever he was.

4. Where do we get "Canadian" think tank?
What are the possible ME think tanks?

To the Editor:

I would like to correct any possible misunderstanding of my remarks on "Meet the Press," quoted in Paul Krugman's July 15 column, about "people around the White House" seeking to link Sept. 11 to Saddam Hussein.

I received a call from a Middle East think tank outside the country, asking me to link 9/11 to Saddam Hussein. No one from the White House asked me to link Saddam Hussein to Sept. 11. Subsequently, I learned that there was much discussion inside the administration in the days immediately after Sept. 11 trying to use 9/11 to go after Saddam Hussein.

In other words, there were many people, inside and outside the government, who tried to link Saddam Hussein to Sept. 11.

6. WOW!!!!........Sounds like 9-11 was deliberate with the WH signature.
Why would they do this with so much determination on 9-11?

Something doesn't smell kosher here.

Shouldn't protecting further US citizens take priority on 9-11?

Callin Clark to infer it was Saddam is ludicrous!
