Direct question: for Jon Stewart's BookExpo presentation this afternoon:
Did they just cut out what he started to say about Bush being stupid???? I purposedly watched the program for a second time this afternoon... and I did not see anything about Audio trouble OR the actual quote about Bush... Did I fall sleep or they just cut it out?

2. It seemed to me that they censored him
At first I thought he must have said a "bad word" but the silence was longer than a bleep. More like a whole sentence.

What's with that, on Cspan? And how can we find out?

(i also posted this in the other thread)

I compared the afternoon showing with the one that I Tivoed this morning and they cut out a full 2 minutes from Stewart's bit! They completely cut out the question that was asked about him having Bush on as a guest all the way through to where he was mocking the Saddam/binLaden link attempts.

so... they don't censor the language (that's a good thing) but they censor out negative comments about Bush... sheesh!

on edit: the weird thing was he just got done saying that they at the Daily Show do not think of him as stupid. Perhaps the censors were a bit too quick on the draw to cut him off. Then it sat there with a still screen and no audio for about a minute and a half before they cut back to him talking about Saddam and bin Laden. That whole section was cut out on the replay.

5. Johns position is ...

... that they think the American people are the stupid one's.

I can abide grudging acceptance of Bush on behalf of conservatives. He does represent their viewpoint better than Democrats. But the fawning idol worship surrounding conservatives is sick and disgusting.

Why do conservatives have to build up their presidents to be something larger than life. Can't they stand up by themselves without bogus folk songs being written about them?????

Someday in heaven Clinton will be laughing, Carter will be lamenting, Kennedy will be writing and Roosevelt will be jumping when they see Bush (both of them) and Nixon rotting in hell. I spare Reagan because I don't really think that he was always completely "there".

7. I'd like to see it, too.
We have the technology; and there is no reason this shouldn't be disseminated widely. Every one of us can burn CD's and hand them out. If the f*ing media won't do do it we have to do it ourselves.

I do imagine that Jon Stewart just MIGHT already be on top of this. Can't wait to see how he works it into the show!
