Even in death, Reagan has the power to divide....
Which was what he was very good at while in the White House. Just look at what he has accomplished this evening. Yeah, Dutch, you are real clever. Even in death, you have divided Democrats that were allies in many a cause. Yeah, Dutch, you were good at what you did. And now we stand in a circle with swords drawns, our faces red with anger, ready to fight to prove our opinion about Dutch Reagan is the correct one. Yeah, you done good, Dutch....

1. I beg to differ, Kentuck.
A 45,000-member chatroom does not represent the whole of America's Democrats, Greens, liberals, and other progressive types.

3. True... But Ain't It A Kick That...
while some of us were worried that Reagan's death would receive wall to wall coverage by the mainstream press and drown out other MORE IMPORTANT stories, we forge right ahead and do the very same thing right here, in our own 'home'???

The dude hasn't been president for 16 years, and has barely been alive for the last ten. We should be damned grateful he didn't have the indecent timing to croak in October and generate a massive sympathy vote for *.

So enjoy your dance of joy on Ronnie's grave. Hoot and shout the night out. But...

Take some aspirin, and drink plenty of water. When your hangover lifts, y'all are gonna be called upon to once again do the work we need to unseat King Chimp. The WH is hoping that this story is gonna put a 'hood' over the heads of all the other stories and investigations out there right now. And the 'Media' will be ever so willing to go along with that plan. "Oooo... A Presidential Funeral! What kind of ratings should we anticipate?"

The only people who can hold the media's feet to the fire are here. We have work to do... still!!!

2. Yes, but not conquer
For all his joviality, his ultimate gift to humanity was anger, hatred, ugly divisions driven deeper in his own country, subjugation and creeping theocracy. Perhaps he was a joy vampire, and he sucked the lightness from life, leaving festering suspicion behind him.

Evocation of his name is flame-bait in society at large, and the gains he made consolidating the power of the few will recede, leaving a smelly shoreline of desolation.
