Novak has no shame.
I've known this for a long time, but his performance on CNN re Reagan's death is over the top even for him.

2. Gosh, I humbly apologize.
Please forgive me. I certainly didn't mean to clutter up your monitor.
I am abject.
I should have waited for the full transcript so that I could fulfill my obligation to keep you up to date on world events.
Maybe you should buy a TV set.
<sarcasm off>
:-)

3. You should elaborate

Because 'in the know' posts like this are bullshit. Not everyone has a television... some by financial constraints, some by choice, some by geography.

I have channels in five languages and I don't have Fox or CNN by choice. Thank God. But it would be nice to imagine that your audience is larger than your hometown when you post.

DU is global. And that is great.

8. Thread Nanny No.
research and effort... not to mention lucidity are worth more than 'in the know' Americana.

This is the Democratic Underground. And though I am not American, I know there are over ten million Americans living outside the country who can vote. But maybe can't watch faux or CNN all the time.

So a half assed attempt to me... as an outsider and really cares about his 'homeland' (can you get any more Teutonic?} to the North and to the east (I have two passports - Canadian and Dutch) to segue into something cute doesn't cut.

FORUM POLICE... lol. Don't like it? Change the channel.

5. I stopped watching TV about 8 years ago ... LITERALLY.
If I lived close enough to the Canadian border to get their programming, I'd do whatever was necessary, but that isn't an option. There seems to be a few others here on DU who feel likewise.

So instead of TV or newspaper subscriptions, I get a few magazines in the mail ... but mostly this internet. With a good DSL connection and adequate computing power, I'm light years ahead of most TV gazers. I come here to DU at least a dozen times a day to keep abreast of affairs, and get leads that I can follow up on by myself. This is an INCREDIBLE repository of knowledge and insight; the accumulated intelligence of several thousand inquiring minds. I'm in awe of what I generally see here.

But "buy a TV set!" is NOT one of them.
