Rolling Thunder bike gang was formed to push POW/MIA awareness.
Edited on Sun May-30-04 04:50 PM by blm
It is made up of some vets who also believe that John Kerry and John McCain betrayed POW/MIAs unaccounted for through their investigations. and their conclusion that relations with Vietnam should be normalized.

They are harder on Kerry than McCain, of course, because of his protests against the war when he returned.

There are some vets in Rolling Thunder who are the Soldier of Fortune types who use the POW/MIA issue to make money off excursions into Vietnam to continue looking for the missing.

Ironically, it is only because of the normalized relations achieved by Kerry and McCain that they are even ALLOWED into Vietnam to conduct their searches.

If some of those idiots want to support the AWOL jerk, I'd like them to also say out front that they would prefer to be in a foxhole with Bush over Kerry.

Shit, Kerry is a crack shot who has risked his life plenty of times for his fellow man. Bush refused to go to Vietnam, went AWOL, has a lifetime record of using others to fight his battles and is even afraid of horses

Yep....Bush is SOME man worth identifying with, heh boys?

What a pack of morons. I doubt ALL of Rolling Thunder identifies with the AWOL coward Bush.

1. Maybe not all......but probably most....
this has already been covered on another thread. Rolling Thunder Vets tend to veer Libertarian and Republican, unfortunately it's nothing new, however this is not a huge group they just get lot's of fanfare when they ride. Having said that, it's pretty impressive when they roll on by.

8. Looks like a Harley to me

This is from a site that is sponsoring a huge biker rally for Kerry

Northeast "Bikers Rallying" to support John Kerry for President of the U.S.A.

KerryBikerBnnr

"AMERICA CRUISES TO BOSTON"

Sponsered and paid for by - Grassroots Bikers "Rallying" in support of John Kerry for President of the U.S.A.

Check out ~WEST COAST~ "Bikers Rallying" to support John Kerry for President of the U.S.A.- and see what there all about and where the ride of SUPORT they are going to make to Boston is going to take them!

Scope out N.Y. Bikers For Kerry, another "Grassroot" site supporting Kerry on this historical Bike Run to the Democratic National Convention in Boston Ma. !!

"Bikers Rallying" to support John Kerry for President of the U.S.A. If you had a "BELLY FULL OF BUSH" check out this site about America Rides to Boston to support a Brother Vietnam Veteran, that will put the words honesty, integrity, and respect back in this land of ours. Ride and support the Troop, Veteran, American, and future generation of this country- by participating in this Motorcycle Run to Boston Ma. Show Bush the "DOOR" in 2004 !! "ALL BIKES AND JOHN KERRY SUPPORTERS WELCOME" !!

Check out "Veterans for Kerry" Web Site and lets take back our country by supporting Sen. Kerry*s bid for President of the U.S.A. on this "Bike Run" !! Sen. John Kerry is a Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War and I personally think Sen. Kerry will meet the needs of the Troop, Veterans, Americans, and future generation of this country of ours. Register and "VOTE" and let our voices as Veterans, and ~American Bikers~ be heard "Loud and Clear". Sen. John Kerry also is a "Motorcycle Riding" Veteran and will be open to hear our concerns as Veteran, Veteran affiliated bikers. and motorcycle riders across America.

At 08:00 am on Tuesday July 27th I'm going be sitting on my motorcycle in the parking lot of the White River VAMC, 215 North Main Street White River Junction, VT. - 05009-0001. I'll be packed for a Motorcycle ride through Vermont, into New Hampshire and then into Massachusetts. I'll be heading to Boston to be there in time to see John Kerry nominated. I'm not a delegate, so I won't be inside. That's not the point.

I'm a Vietnam Army veteran. I've heard way too much talk about the lack of passion for John Kerry's candidacy. I figure it would show some support for John Kerry to ride a motorcycle to the Democratic Convention in Boston Massachusetts. I don't have a lot of money to give, but this is my way of showing support for John Kerry for President of the U.S.A. What I do have is a motorcycle and a belly full of Bush and his lies and deceit to every American and the world.

I would like to have some company on this ride, because I believe that there are a lot of motorcycle riders like me in the country who would like to show their support in a visible way. You don't have to start from California or the Northeast. Start from where ever you are and join the Rally. Some bikers are planning to ride through as many battleground states, so you can join in Arizona, New Mexico, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and all the way to Concord, Massachusetts. On the morning of July 28 we'll gather there for the final 20 miles to the Fleet Convention Center in Boston. We want to start out from Concord because that's where America's first future veterans rallied and started the battle against King George III. It seems very appropriate this year - for sure.

So whether you're a veteran or a peace monger (maybe both), a union member or a CEO, a yellow dog Democrat or an Independent who never votes straight ticket just on principle, a gray-haired geezer who's begun to appreciate rocking chairs or a youngster still bucking like a bronco, a rider of a full dress Electra Glide or a Honda 350, or any kind of American who wants a change in the White House with a motorcycle you can swing a leg over and a throttle you can twist you're welcome to come along for the ride, or plan on meeting this run at Minuteman National Historical Park in Concord, Ma.on the morning of July 28, 2004. Start your own Run to support John Kerry for President of the U.S.A. and join us as we proceed to the Democratic National Convention at the Fleet Center in Boston, Ma. Feel free to let me or the West Coast Bikers "Rallying" to support John Kerry - (above) of your plans and we will be more than happy to link you up on our sites. Let us as American Motorcycle riders "let our voices be heard across this country and participate in this historical Motorcycle Run, for the best interest of the U.S.A. and its future".

Our final destination will be the Fleet Center at 1 Fleet Center Place, Boston, Ma. 02114. Click on the below image to go to the 2004 Democratic Convention web site.

9. Wouldn't it have been great if these "Supporters of Kerry" had "thundered
into Washington to meet with the "Usurper."

It would have been AMAZING!

10. at Virginia Kerry meet-up last Thursday, there was a consensus...

that we would NOT politicize the WWII or the Rolling Thunder memorial celebrations...our meet-up was loaded with Veterans, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, GW1, and more...and everyone decided that a Kerry biker show at rolling thunder was out of line.....that was out of respect for OUR Veterans and their special day....

it's disgusting to see bush* politicize the 'special' memorial day for the Vietnam Veterans by inviting TWELVE of them to the White House and making a bush* photo-op out of their special day....

7. LOTS of other non-Vets or reTHUG bikers join rolling thunder here in DC

where I live in Alexandria Virginia (right across the river from DC, and VERY close to the pentagon)...every single male with a motorcycle took off this morning to join rolling thunder....

it certainly is not just Vietnam Veterans....it seems that only twelve reTHUGlican bikers were greeted by bush* at the White House AND CNN showed another one of those reTHUGlican events with tents and a stage and a military guy on the stage as a few (maybe 20) people sat in chairs listening to the pResident speaking on a bad loud speaker system....

the whole 'endorsement' was simply a bush* sick PR ploy and in no way did it look like the whole group was embracing it....Vietnam Veterans are NOT fond of bush*, because they are a BIG group of currently suffering Vieterans without medical and mental health care for their war wounds.....just walk around DC for a while...there are over 18,000 homeless in DC, and 60 % are VETERANS, many from Vietnam....

11. Exactly, amen. The few vets who think like this will get all the publicity
while the majority who despise Bush are ignored by the media.
