Anyone who wants to see Bush being a complete dorko
Turn on CNN and watch closely when they start singing God Bless America. Bush just finished speaking, and they're about to do the national anthem. God Bless America is a song or two after that.

2. What? You mean "God Bless America" ISN'T the national anthem?
Damn! I must have gotten all confused, again! Well, at least the pledge to the flag is secular. Whew!

4. Interesting tidbit
I was watching the 700 Club the other night, just to amuse myself, and Pat Boone came on hawking his new CD, a collection of patriotic songs. He claimed it was the first collection of patriotic songs in 50 years - which I find almost as hard to believe as his stated motive of restoring these songs for today's children and a bunch of other B.S. that he spewed. He also said The Star-Spangled Banner had God in it.

In disbelief, I went looking for the additional verses - I knew there was at least one - and found he was right. The fourth verse talks about the power ... er, excuse me, the Pow'r that hath saved us and our motto being, "In God is our trust!"

8. Maybe he didn't say it was the first collection of patriotic songs
in 50 years. He was talking about how they were really gospel songs, and I can't remember his exact words. He did say it was the first collection in 50 years. The video and audio are on the front page of www.700club.com if anyone wants to check. My speakers are broken.

The thing that got my attention and the reason I was even watching was this new book by Pat Robertson, Secrets of Financial Success. It tells you how to be blessable. I wonder if it tells you how to buy diamond mines in Africa and live off of slavery and torture.

6. He appears to be following along
Edited on Sun May-30-04 04:06 PM by neebob
mumbling and coming in late with a few words like mountains and prairies. And he has the dopiest of all the dopey facial expressions I've ever seen. You really have to see it to appreciate it. I'm surprised no one else has picked it up and replayed it. Maybe one of the late-night talk shows will do it tomorrow night and someone will put it on the internet.
