Bob Dole is one of the last "real Republicans"
Edited on Sun May-30-04 03:10 PM by Rowdyboy
He has been extremely eloquent today, a worthy spokeman for his party and veterans in particular. He is neither a neo-con, nor a religious fundamentalist. He is a real statesman, fiscally and socially conservative . While we disagree on issues, I can respect him for that.

 to a generation who fought a real fight for freedom.

1. True
He is making all Americans and veterans proud today. An eloquent speaker and a war hero....hmmm quite a long shot from the current top Republican in America.

Props to Bob Dole.

2. Nope. Still an ideologue.
Don't let the pretty curtains fool you.

I'll grant you that he's not as gaudy as some adornments.

3. I like him a lot better
now than when he was the King of the fillibuster during the Clinton Presidency. he seems to have mellowed out a bit and doesn't take himself so seriously.

But I suspect he will be out there shilling for Bush when the time comes.

4. Yep, and he's stumping for the corrupt Bush cabal.
I guess this means real republicans are just as corrupt as the unreal ones.

6. I saw a few minutes of him this morning, and it was dismal
It was on one of the Sunday talking head shows and he was just repeating the neocon talking points on Iraq one right after the other.

He's a Repuglican, all right. I did think better of him than THIS.

11. People here are too enamored with character
Edited on Sun May-30-04 04:09 PM by wuushew
who the hell cares about personality when politicians vote incorrectly on policy matters? How does a person's personality affect you? It doesn't. Their voting record sure the hell does.

How about a shout out for DK who has character and the correct policy positions.
