I've been to a meeting or two -- aging hippies running the thing. But they were certainly angling for how to cut themselves in for $$. Yet, they seem to be doing progressive causes. What gives?

no war is wrong, no war not worth fighting, no war not worth following blindly. I think Vietnam was an error at best, but don't disdain those who fought it. I do disdain glorification of it or any other war of choice not necessary. I honor those who were truly doing it for what they thought was right.

They are Vietnam Vets as well as reight wingers on motorcycles, mostly harley.

I work with one and he can't stop trying to preach, or kiss bushs ass.

18. One of those "Rolling Thunder Guys" winked at me at an Anti-Iraq Invasion

protest just before the Chimp Invaded. There were three of them who came down the street where we had our "Protest" signs and they were "gunning" their Harleys or whatever they drive...and looking like "real mean dudes" with flags and stuff waving off the back...and some of us thought they were going to jump out and attack us, but one of them "winked" and I don't know if he thought I was "cute" and wanted to chat me up, or not, but I took it to mean he thought my sign and sentiments were good. (One of my signs was "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" and the other was "No War for Oil Profits."}

After creating a "fear disturbance" with their reving engines and flags flying and helmits with slogans they finally left us alone.

When I posted my "disturbing experience" on DU later, I was told they were "harmless" and were really just trying to get the "MIA's" from Viet Nam home.

Now...I wonder about their loyalties. Maybe that one that "winked" at me was sincere, or maybe he really did think I was cute. :shrug:

if they think repubs have done so much for vets, I'm thinking none of them have had to get any health care in the last year or two. How about 2 to 3 month wait for appts at va med facility. My brother in law had to endure that and he had lung cancer. I say had cuz he's dead now. great care he got.
