does Joe Lieberman understand how the primaries work?
perhaps he's under the impression that Republicans can vote for him in them.

that sure would help explain his behavior.

5. Yup
GA is one of them. That's what helped defeat Cynthia McKinney in her primary in 2002. I heard Rush Limbaugh the day before urging Gwinnett County voters to get out and vote Dem in the primary. Some of them did.

10. Not many, actually.
The numbers were counted and there wasn't a very high number of Republicans voting for her opponent. That's a myth.

11. You want a Republican to replace him in the Senate?
He's by no means my favorite Senator, but if he goes, John Rowland, who's a Republican, will pick another Republican - and it will definitely be someone a hell of a lot worse than Lieberman, knowing Rowland.

6. In Tennessee, they can
We have open primaries here. Since there's no need to vote for a Republican candidate, they're free to vote in the Democratic primary.

We don't have a registered party affiliation here. Makes it a challenge when trying to GOTV.

7. republicans can vote, it doesn't take much to change registrations
but republicans aren't going to vote for someone they see as a threat to Bush like Leiberman

they'll be voting for Sharpton or Dean

8. In an appearance on C-Span...
...he was out on a meet and greet. He was speaking to this woman, who said she was a Republican and supported Bush. He said, "Well, you're fortunate to live in a state with open primaries. You can come over and vote for me for the nomination, and THEN GO BACK AND VOTE FOR BUSH IN THE GENERAL!" So this punk told this Republican woman to not only throw away her vote on stupidity ONCE, but TWICE. At one point he was tolerable. Now this man is just a blight on the Democratic party, and he's simply serving as a hit man in the twilight of his 15 minutes for Al From and those lil whiney bitches...
