Bush dynasty ex-wife set to spill the beans
By Steve Bloomfield and Sophie Goodchild
30 May 2004

A new book on the Bush dynastyis set for release just six weeks before November's knife-edge presidential election. The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty by Kitty Kelley will have an initial print run of 500,000, and the main source is believed to be Sharon Bush, the ex-wife of Neil, President George W Bush's wayward brother.

Kelley, whose unauthorised biographies of Frank Sinatra, Jackie Onassis and the British Royal Family have told tales of affairs, electric-shock treatment and more affairs, has turned her attention to America's first family.

The book could be the most damaging yet for the President, with the publishers, Random House, promising it will "cause controversy".

3. Didn't the babysitter for one of the Bush*'s relatives get killed by
her driverless car? That was so weird. I remember she got pinned against a wall by the car.

32. I copied the article, because I figured it would disappear
Here are a couple of the paragraphs:

Bush Family Babysitter Killed in Fairfax

Sunday, October 5, 2003; Page C03

A babysitter for the family of Marvin Bush was found dead Monday night outside the family's Fairfax County home, and police said that she had been crushed when her car rolled into her, pinning her between the vehicle and an outbuilding on the property.

Fairfax County police said Bertha Champagne, 62, had worked for several years for Marvin Bush, President Bush's brother, and lived at the family home on Fort Hunt Road in the Alexandria section of Fairfax.

(snip)

The vehicle had been in gear, police said, and appeared to have rolled in her direction when Champagne was in front of it.

After pinning Champagne, Young said, the car continued rolling toward Fort Hunt Road, near the intersection of Edgehill Drive.

9. The bad news: This won't hurt Bush The good news: It won't help him
Edited on Sat May-29-04 07:32 PM by Jack Rabbit
This looks like it could become the best-hyped non-event of the year.

This is about Bush's brother and ex-sister-in-law, not the Frat Boy. Furthermore, Kitty Kelley has about as much credibility as . . . G. W. Bush. I wouldn't take anything she says about anyone at face value. Usually, she is writing about people I don't care about. And frankly, I don't care about Sharon Bush.

I'll pass on this one.

11. Respectfully Disagree, JR
The book is about the "dynasty". Sharon might be a recruit for info specific to Neil, but the book is supposed to be about the whole gang.

As for KELLEY's credibility: I endlessly submit that professional gossipers, like her and many gossip columnists have higher standards of journalism than ... Tweety, G.E.RUSSERT, the whole Faux lineup, and many many more. And I submit that "gossip" relates more to uncomfortable secrets that are TRUE.

Repost from the LBN thread:

Wish it were out now. But maybe 6 weeks is the right time for maximum impact.

To the post saying the Nancy book was "so bitchy" all it did was gain sympathy for the RAYGUNs, I don't know how it played out back then, but I just read it last year and it was GREAT to see cold facts now that Tweety and the wingnuts are drooling over the RAYGUNs and what lovebirds they were and all. Besides the astrologers and the china, there was the Ronnie rape, the Ronnie running away until Nancy caught him, Nancy shaking down donors for clothes-houses-money, Nancy's trysts with Frank, and on and on.

The opening is a classic:

"Two entries on Nancy Reagan's birth certificate are still accurate---her sex and her color. Almost every other item was invented then or later reinvented. In truth, the certificate gave birth to two generations of lies.
The original facts about the infant Anne Frances Robbins .... were carefully rewritten: She revised her date of birth, concealed her birthplace, and cast aside her father."

That, sir, does nothing to recommend gossip columnists. However, it goes a long was toward explaining why, at 9 o'clock on Sunday morning when many of those named and people like them dominate the airwaves, my television set is OFF.

And I submit that "gossip" relates more to uncomfortable secrets that are TRUE.

Most of those "uncomfortable secrets", even when true, don't amount to a hill of beans. There is nothing in the soap opera of Neil and Sharon that explains the prevarications concerning Saddam's biochemical arsenal.

25. We Are Hopelessly Deadlocked
I further submit that the "uncomfortable secrets" of interest to us here are the DIRTY DEALINGS the B.F.E.E has been engineering for a hundred years. And beyond that, all KINDS of their malfeasance--big, little, PRIVATE--are mosaic pieces of their overall despicability, which DESERVES THE LIGHT OF DAY.

I'll keep the light on.

10. Neil already has threatened her, telling her to stay out of "dark alleys."

Bush divorce: splitting in the spotlight Sharon Bush wonders why Neil Bush used e-mail to tell her he was leaving and why he told her by phone months later, "You better move on with your life or you'll find yourself in a back alley." (There's some terrific GOP family values: death threats!)

I strolled the aisles of BN a couple of days ago, and couldn't believe the number of anti-Bush screeds. satan is working overtime.

That old hag Kelley. I wish someone would put this lying psycho out to pasture.

Amazing how ONLY the Bush-bashing books get play. Bill Sammon has a book... Dick Morris has a book (a bestseller, to boot).

20. "Classic case of scorned wife"?
The cowardly bastard -(it seems genetic in the Bush family) -emailed her to say "so long". For years he'd been boffing
one of MommyDearest's little upwardly mobile volunteers - in between his trips to Thailand where he serviced whatever women showed up at his hotel room door. By his own admission he has a veneral disease. Are you suggesting that a wife who has been so poorly treated and betrayed hasn't the right to be angry?

29. I read the article too
and DID is right--whatever her reasons, Sharon Bush came off as a total nut. And not credible.

And we also need to keep in mind that even though she and Neilsie are now divorced, she was a member of the BFEE for 20 years. Which doesn't say good things about her judgment.

30. Read the article
Your local library probably has back issues. It was a few months ago, also had a piece on Bev Harris.

Sharon Bush has every right to be angry. But there are things she's said and done that make you question her mental stability. Particularly trying to get a DNA sample of Neilsie's new wife's child from her previous marriage. Her shenanigans regarding that alone are reason for doubt.

33. I read the article.
While I agree it made her seem flaky - I also allowed for her
state of mind and the inevitable misquotes or careful editing.
I know of where I stand, having been profiled in a major magazine as one of a "new 60's breed" - a divorcee .

Interestingly enough, there's a columnist in the Houston Chronical who
reports today on a "hedonistic" party which took place recently. Among the guests were Neilie and his new wife - Sharon and her escort were also listed.

she probably has good reason to belive the child is actually his. That could mean all kinds of points in a divorce. Why shouldn't she look out for her own interests? We know that Neil was looking out for his.
