Indiana high school students build a car that gets 2,416 miles to the gallon, winning a state contest. Affiliate WTVW reports. (May 27)

3. Ok it runs on Gas.. it has Bicycle tires. 3 of them...
it has room for one and its amazing! It didn't go super fast, but was made by physics students and they said that they could have made it even better.

It broke the record by double. It was sponsored by a bunch of companies including Acura. It cost only $6000 to make

8. I'll bet that
if a group of college students had the funds, they could develop the ultimate family car with low, low fuel usage and all the bells and whistles. I even think that they eventually will. But would they be able to buck the oil companies to bring it to market?
