Voters prefer Brown to Blair
Gordon Brown has surged ahead of Tony Blair to become Labour's biggest electoral asset in the run-up to the next general election, according to a YouGov poll for The Telegraph today. Gordon Brown has surged ahead of Tony Blair to become Labour's biggest electoral asset in the run-up to the next general election, according to a YouGov poll for The Telegraph today.

Mr Blair is regarded as a "liability" by a majority of voters, with almost 60 per cent believing he should resign now or before the election.

3. The best thing Labour could do would be to find a fresh face other
than Brown (who's very pro-corporations, but a decent liberal) or Blair.

The Tories are salivating over the chance to run against Brown. He's colorless, and dour, and will be easy to portray as not being liberal enough for the left. He couldn't win a general election.

Labour should do some karate on the on the Tories. Give them a surprise move. LIke, find some really good woman or someone very young and charismatic -- someone whom the Tories would curse themselves for creating. They're not going to curse themselves over getting Brown to replace Blair.
