Are You 'Unity Ticket' People CRAZY?
Edited on Wed May-26-04 04:18 PM by matcom
what the HELL would compell you to want a 'Unity Ticket'?

Kerry/McCain???

are you INSANE??

WHY would you even CONSIDER a pro-life, conservative, RW PUKE to team up with a DEM? do you realize what that would do to further the 'ONE PARTY' cause?

what next? will the last standing party be labled the:

Republicrats?
Democraplicans?

have you no shame? it would be (IMHO) the WORST thing for 'democracy' in the long run to have that happen! forget checks and balances. it would be OVER. sure, tap McCain for Sec. of Defense (MAYBE) but good GAWD

STOP IT!

1. I'm with you there, Matcom
A Dem/Repub unity ticket would just make it that much harder for those Greens who are going ot hold their nose and vote Kerry. Might even lose some of them at that point.

5. Oh but it's such a CLEVER campaign ploy
to rile up people who are wobbly in their support for Kerry anyway to appeal to people who will be tuning all of this out until October.

10. I've got a little secret for you, matcom
There's not a chance in hell that McCain is going to be Kerry's VP. It's just a way for Kerry to get some free media attention that makes him look less liberal, more bipartisan, less political, and has the added bonus that whenever they mention McCain, they mention his military record, which is always followed with a reference to Kerry's military record.

13. and McCain is using Kerry too
while he's shilling for Bush & positioning himself for '08.

it doesn't mean we have to get excited about it.

15. Yes and no.
while he's shilling for Bush & positioning himself for '08.

Yes, agreed

it doesn't mean we have to get excited about it.

Actually, we do. Or at least, we need to act like we're getting excited about it. It helps foster the impression that Kerry is not so liberal. The more moderate voters will think "How liberal can he be if he gets the liberals so upset?"

That won't happen unless we act upset!!!

28. What the fuck is wrong with being 'liberal'?
Edited on Wed May-26-04 07:37 PM by Q
- It's bad enough to have the RWingers attacking liberals like they're the enemy. Now we have so-called Dems doing the same thing.

- A liberal should be proud to be a liberal. Anything else is just plain hypocrisy.

16. Ok, here's my take
Two decorated Vietnam War veterans join forces, despite obvious differences in policy, to rid the the country of the worst President in American history. To save the United States of America. How great is that story?

18. it SUCKS
here is the problem.

McCain, after ALL Bush has done to this country, done to him personally, done to this Constitution (that McCain had spent years in a POW camp for) he is STILL campaigning for him.

he is a REPUKE

PERIOD.

a unity ticket would DESTROY this Republic

27. Yeah but the sheeple would lap it up
like home made gravy. And it would virtually assure a Bush defeat, IMO. In more normal circumstances I would rather root for a winner than hope that someone loses. But in these desperate times one might expect some desperate measures.

I'll shut the fuck up now as I see the hole that I'm digging. It's just food for thought. But if Kerry picks McCain, it will not change my vote. I want Bush out.

17. I just did a quick Search.
Searched "McCain" in thread title, all forums, all current topics. I counted thirteen threads bashing the idea of McCain as a Vice-Presidential nominee, compared to five which mentioned it neutrally or favorably. So maybe the way to stop hearing about the McCain for VP idea would be to stop talking about it.

30. I think anybody that thinks Kerry wants McCain is crazy

first McCain needs to come clean on this asshole in the white house and stop pretending he's wearing clothes. Until then, he's ONE OF THEM. It's war. If Kerry doesn't know that, then he's not going to win.
