2. why, you think it would be a good show if he just shouted down

people who he didn't agree with like Randi? I think it is important to engage those who disagree with and make your case with your evidence. You can either have a talk show that discusses issues and tries to convince people of our positions merits, or an echo chamber where you only hear what you agree with. I don't see AAR being successfull unless the do some of the first.

3. I actually like Franken a lot but...

...I was not at all impressed with his handling of these knuckleheads today. Only at the very end did he even take a swipe at one of them. I can't remember exactly how the exchange went but Franken ended up saying something like, "Yeah, you don't know much." He should have been coming at those idiots like that all along. They weren't too interested in any of the information he tried to share with them.

8. I heard that too....

I really thought that when the barbecuers touted their support for Bush and the war, that Franken was going to hit back with something like, "Oh, so you support a war based on lies? Why?" And when the fellow was going on about WMDs being small and therefore difficult to find, Franken would reply with "But we had the exact number and quantity of each WMD that Iraq was suppose to have according to Bush's SOTU speech, and that we knew where they were, so why haven't we found them yet?" or when the same fellow referred to the pre-Oil War I bomb was found earlier this/last week, Franken would follow up with "Was that the one given to Saddam by the Reagan-Bush administration?"

I kept waiting for these come-backs but was somewhat disappointed when I heard nothing. I really thought Franken could have done better with this crowd.

...the English language, I'd have to concur with your description of yourself in your subject line. And I think the point of the complaint is quite clear: Looking for weapons of mass destruction is not the same as looking for Jimmy Hoffa. Hoffa was just ONE guy. This administration told us of TONS of stuff that Iraq supposedly had that they were going to attack us with. But alas, they still can't find it.
