OK, so if I understand correctly, the Terror Alert Level is now "maybe?"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5061256/

"Terrorism threat for summer won't raise alert level
Ridge seeks to temper warning that terrorists may already be in U.S."

"I can confirm that we have seen for the past several weeks a continuous stream of reporting that talks about the possibility of attacks on the United States, but not unlike what we’ve seen for the past several years," he said on NBC’s "Today" show."

"The AP report Tuesday that suggested a major attack could be planned for summer noted that the intelligence did not include a time, place or method of attack. But the unidentified official characterized it as being among the most disturbing intelligence received by the government since the al-Qaida attacks of Sept. 11, 2001."

"There also is concern terrorists might try to mount an attack to coincide with the November election. The political fallout from the March 11 train bombings in Spain taught al-Qaida that an attack timed to an election can have a major impact."

Translation / Reality Check: "Continuous stream of the same old crap. However, this is the most upsetting crap we've seen since 9-11, when we received continuous streams and ignored them. However, we still may be able to pull the election out of Bush's ass if an "incident" happens close enough to the election, because Al Quaeda...and the Bush administration...understand clearly that "an attack timed to an election can have a major impact."

Does that about sum it up?

1. It didn't get good press this morning
So they had to soften it up, I guess.
