Taking back the house - Does your state have any upset possibilities?
Is there a GOP incumbent in your district that has a reasonable chance of being fired by the voters? Is your state democratic party giving this candidate adequate attention. In our case, here in WV, the party has more or less written off Shelly Moore Capito, daughter of former convicted felon GOP governor Arch Moore. She's extremely beatable and would have been sent home earlier had the state dems bothered to run someone other than the horribly unlikebale Jim Humphreys against her.

I think her current challenger Erik Wells is a fresh face and has a real shot if he can get the support

send money to:
Wells for Congress Committee
PO Box 2545
Charleston, WV 25302

how about your area? is there anyone who has a real chance at taking down a repuke that needs donations?

1. Yes.
John Boozman (R-AR Third District), the incumbant, has been toeing the Bush line on denying veteran's benefits, and he's on the Veteran's Affairs Committee. His challenger, State Rep. Jan Judy, is making this one of her campaign themes. This is the first time in a while the Dems have put up a candidate, and I think she has a chance. Even the Republicans around here are, by and large, disgusted with Bush.

2. CA 11th
There are a lot of folks who believe this district can be had. It's current rep is Richard Pombo. He's a typical right-wing anti-environment Republican.

Jerry McNerney is taking him on and reportedly has a very good organization. Additionally, several of the local Dean chapters have taken on GOTV and fundraising for him.

McNerney himself has spent his career in the field of renewable energy.

Money's always appreciated from those that can spare it.

3. Mike Rogers
Mike Rogers could go down. He won only 51% in 2002.

5. FL
FL-5 could be a possible Dem pickup. Ginny Brown-Waite took the seat from a Democrat in 2002 by 1 %. The primary hasn't taken place yet, so hold off on any donations.

Not entirely sure about the 13th. I've heard people say that Schneider could be competitive with Harris in a rematch of 2002.

Clay Shaw in the 22nd would have been more vulnerable had things not gotten gerrymandered so badly. Still, Jim Stork could make it close if Kerry is strong at the top of the ticket.

I'd hold off on donating for a while. I'm not sure which seats the DCCC will target as possible gains.

6. A wealty democrat is going up against almost loser repuke Porter
who's a first termer here in Henderson, Nevada.

Haven't ever heard ANYTHING from Porter. Not too much from his challenger. Can't even remember his name. Sigh.

Porter is such a lightweight, anyone with a serious challenge could easily upset him.

7. NJ-7
Steve Brozak (click the link in my sig) has already gotten serious exposure (front-page profile in the Wall Street Journal, appearance on CNN), he's running against Mike Ferguson, who is just too far right for New Jersey, even though NJ-7 is a Republican-leaning district, he can be beaten.....

Ferguson is the guy who said something along the lines of "unemployment in Iraq is about 50%, and yet we have people here complaining about not finding a job, blah, blah, blah....."

He's also the guy who was hit with one of the heaviest fines ever assessed by the FEC against a congressional candidate ($210,000) for embezzling over $500,000 of mommy and daddy's money into his own 2000 campaign, and he's also the moral, family-values, married Republican father who tried to pick up a college student in a Georgetown bar.....
