Michael Moore's site is down
As in, completely gone. So either some hacker deleted everything, or, more likely, he is completely changing his site. Can't wait to see it.

2. This Had Happened To Me, Too.
I went there curious as to if he'd posted more on his film and found the site not uploading. I, also, thought the failure was on my side.

Thanks for the confirmation.

4. Two days?
Huh... that's weird. An awful long time for a fairly robust site to be down. I would get my ass fired if it was one of mine.

5. Site is toast somehow, if it were being upgraded
they would have an index page or redirect saying so. I suppose I could be wrong but every site I've ever altered that required actually shutting down still had an index page to let people know what to expect.

6. It was hacked/attacked - check out this link

Thank you, google. Includes a link to a mirror of the message the hackers posted before it was taken down. Assholes--beat down into silence anybody who doesn't agree with your worldview.

10. Yes.
And I'm sure the authorities will get right on it.

Fahrenheit 9/11 wins the Palme D'Or!!!

Last night, the jury here at the 57th Cannes Film Festival awarded the Palme D'Or, one of the highest honors in filmmaking, to Fahrenheit 9/11. Michael and everyone who worked on the film were completely blown away. Four of the nine festival jury members were American, and only one of the jurors was French. Fahrenheit 9/11 is the first documentary to win the Palme since Jacques Cousteau's "The Silent World" in 1956.

Might do a traceroute, maybe something down along your stream - mine is fine.

om edit - maybe not - the post above indicates it was hacked.

Some of us here were able to attend the ceremony, while others watched on television and ate pizza and drank champagne (which was not a good mixture). Below this are some pictures from the awards and you can watch the ceremony in full online here and the winners' press conference here.

Mike will have some more words on all that has happened in the last week probably in the next day or so. Until then, enjoy these pictures

14. They are changing servers
Edited on Tue May-25-04 06:13 PM by nosferatu
And the domain name servers just got updated to the new host. Still, I would expect better professionalism from Moore's web dev people.
Note: I am just guessing at this. I have no proof to back up my claim.
