Bush's Desperate Lies
The war in Iraq is going so badly that all Bush can do is lie about it. In last night's speech, for example, he promised he'll end the occupation by June 30th. However, because he's not planning to withdraw any troops, the occupation will continue by another name. He also promised that the Iraqis will have full sovereignty, but Americans will continue to make all the important decisions. This isn't Iraqi sovereignty, it's American fraud.

Bush's "trick" is to use different terminology to describe a situation which won't change in any substantial way. When our soldiers die, they are just as dead by whatever word you use to describe them.

in the speech, just the same policy blah blah over and over

he couldn't plan his way out of a wet paper bag

2. I'm surprised (not)
that the media didn't pick up on the re-invention of language used in the speech last night. I was also disappointed in Biden's analysis/commentary on two cable channels where he pounded on the "nothing new" theme and didn't point out the obvious deception of the speech.

The other point that is the proverbial "elephant in the living room" is that the "plan" is at least a year late!

Shouldn't there have been a plan before we invaded the place?

Not a word has been said.

4. Exactly - isnt it odd that 1yr+ into the invasion of a
sovereign nation that did NOT attack us - the President has to stand up and enunciate a 'plan'.......and all the pro-Bush zombies try to make it seem that he is doing the leadership thing - all this makes me physically sick....

5. Well, the BBC World Service did say
as soon as the speech ended "well, if he'd said that the day after they got to Baghdad, and then did it, we wouldn't be in this mess now, would we?"
