Does anyone fear that RW is deflating Bush intentionally?
And that they'll replace him with Tom Ridge this fall?

Sort of like what the Democrats did with LBJ, which would have worked if RFK hadn't been assassinated.

1. How About McCain?
I'm keeping my eyes on him. He's been making the rounds lately for some reason.

2. Ridge? America doesn't like Mr. Duct tape, just my sense
Too many times he scared the crap out of people with his bungling "Color alerts".

4. Frist is the other choice, and I'm not sure he has nat'l security
qualifications. Not that any of the current chicken hawks do.

Maybe they'll act like frist is the Dr who will heal the nation, or something stupid like that.

5. Only McCain and Guiliani Would Have A Chance

and both have traits which the RWers would rail against. Plus Guiliani (like Gore) has faded into the woodwork these last 4 years -- and whatever he had in terms of goodwill is old news. So really, McCain is the only possible one, IMO.

Ridge, Frist have no personality.

8. if that's their strategy, it's a lousy one.
It is way too late to change horses and Tom Ridge is no RFK.

9. That doesn't mean the media won't try to make you believe he is.
I just don't understand why the media isn't trying harder to prop Bush up like they did from 1999 to early 2003.

They're letting him twist, and I don't think they're doing it for the Democrats' benefit.
