FDA says they don't want the risk of STDs in the US sperm banks. That's right... most straight men don't have STDs..hah. I think what's really going on here is, some idiotic right wingers think homosexuality is a gene, and they don't want that gene floating around in the US sperm banks. God forbid we help increase the gay population!
