Is Disney refusing to sell the rights to the Weinsteins?
I've heard it both ways and we need to find out definitively. If they are, we need to start mass protests this weekend at Disneyland. Everyone in L.A., Orange, Riverside and San Diego areas could just move their protests to Disneyland. They can't keep us off the public sidewalks. The fear of losing business might scare them.

1. From what I have read, they have agreed to sell the right...
it is the percentage profit Disney will get that they are quibbling over. What an irony, Disney won't distribute it for "moral" reasons but they sure as hell want their cut! Assholes.

2. This makes the film less attractive to the distributor because
the distributor does all the work and most the the profits go to the company that tried to block it.

3. I suspect that's part of the tactic
...although this is likely to be such a blockbuster that even a lousy distribution deal will make money.

My real suspicion is that they're going to quibble and pettifog as long as they can, trying to run out the clock and minimize the damage this film will do to the Bush gang.

It aint gonna work. The more it looks like outright censorship, the more people will start to wake up to what they're doing.

4. I think protests are in order no matter what?
Now that Moore has won the Palme de arte award in Cannes.? They certainly can't get away with this for long..Heah, they could have been successful in their consorship..They deserve our wrath?
I did not know Disney was so greedy.?
So will the distribution be the same as Columbine was? Only Independent/art theaters.?
I say the longer Disney delays this movies release, the more it will hurt Bush? Unless, Disney gets it delayed until after NOvember..

5. I agree, time for a world-wide boycott of Disney unless they...
come to final agreement on the % before July 4th.

7. Maybe the BBC got it wrong. The deal apparently hasn't gone through.
