So how tall is George

George's height has always been a sore point for his handlers. They never give a clear answer on how tall he is. Now we have a photo of George standing with someone who's height is known. Bill Laimberr (6'11"). I tried my hand at it and the number I get is shockingly small. I have to have flubbed it somehow. Could someone with more experience in dealing with perspective in photos try to work out how tall George really is?

I have no idea how much an average male shrinks over the course of 30 years.

... and the sympathetic press tries to ignore the cowboy boots and play up his "stature." But, the truth was in his medical records. About 5'11" and some change. If he's settled a bit with age, as most of us do, he's about 5'11".

Does it matter? After all, in many hearts and minds, here and elsewhere, he's going to be remembered as that "really big jerk."

I imagine the limb method might "stre-e-e-e-tch" him out an inch or two more.

6. My Dad calims to be 5'9

in reality he's about 5'6. Bush looks like he's about 5'8-5'9 tops.

I don't believe for one millisecond that he's five-foot-eleven. And I'd be very surprised if he were really five-ten!

9. Yep, thats why I asked for help

If I do the math based on just the raw info he comes out around 5'2"-5'4". That can't be right. I don't know what the math is to take perspective into account hence the call for help.

I'm 6'2" and there's no way he's only two inches shorter than I am.

He is on the same level and about the same distance from camera as the player holding the Bush #1 jersey. That player appears to be Jae Cross http://www.wnba.com/playerfile/jae_cross/index.html?nav=page who is listed as 5'9". My calculations from my Image Editor pixel count makes him about 5'7".

My guess is GW is about 5'10".
