Denmark, Conservatives' anger over US line in Iraq

Were we duped? Daily newspaper Berlingske Tidende reported this weekend that discontent is rising in Parliament's conservative wing over US policy in Iraq

Conservative pundits in Denmark, once strenuous defenders of American policy in Iraq, are now openly criticizing the United States, following reports of the widespread torture and humiliation of Iraqi detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison.

"People (in Denmark) are angry. They feel taken for a ride. As a result of this torture scandal, Rumsfeld and his cronies have criminalized the US, its allies, and the entire operation in Iraq. Even people here in Denmark who, like myself, supported the war, have become accomplices in Rumsfeld's despicable actions," said conservative reporter, critic, and commentator Claes Kasthold Hansen, speaking with Berlingske Tidende.

1. Awsome, I hope it destroys the conservatives in Denmark

Back in the day, I spent a summer in Denmark and really loved it
and I still have friends there. Lately I've heard they are gonna
bulldoze Christiania and the right has made gains based on
anti-immigration (i think).

Anyway, I hope this causes a political swing in that country.
I had hoped to go back there one day.
