Thank you Bush.
This is miniluvamericahatebush. I live in Washington Sate, a state with one of the countries highest gas prices (Last time I checked, it was above 2.30). At the end of sixth grade (My grade) all the sixth graders go to Wild Waves for a graduation party and a little bit of fun (I WANT TO PUSH DYLAN INTO THE POOL!!!), but this year, we get to go to an arts musem! WHY, PEOPLE?! WHY?!?!?!?!

Sure, I'm all for the arts, but I want to go to Wild Waves. Do you want to know the reason why we can't go?

White River School Distrect has spent 5,000 dollars more on gas for our buses.

As Mrs. Hill (Our teacher. She's a good woman, and a strong supporter of Kerry) explained this to our class, Dylan, who sits right next to me and is also very democratic (For a kid) muttered 'Thanks Bush." Under his breath. I myself thought the same thing. Have and of you people felt simalar rage towards Bush for stuff like this? I know we'll have to cancle a few raodtrips this summer.

Yep, we all feel the same anger at Bush* as you do. You're pretty darn smart and knowledgable for someone just finishing 6th grade.

 on an excellent post.

Sorry about your field trip to the water park - that would've been fun.

a certain person I knew in the States, thanks to things like the increased terrorist threat.

Am sure an arts museum will still be interesting, but I am sure a natural history museum is more interesting.

On edit I'm sure it's still a drag that you couldn't go to the water park for that no doubt would be fun.

4. Not Just The Gas
It is an example of how Bush's economic policies affect "ordinary" Americans. Bush has lowered the taxes of very wealthy Americans. Now the government has less money to give to your state to spend on the schools. Because the schools have to spend money to make sure you can read and do math they have to cut some of the fun stuff.

As for rising gas prices, many Americans ARE being affected. Here is one way: if gas is more expensive, it costs more money to deliver things like milk to the grocery store, so the price goes up and then maybe some one can't afford it or has to give up buying something else.

Bum deal you can't go to the water park.

5. Is there a demonstrable connection between Bush and higher gas prices?
Or is it market forces or cartel manipulation.

Bush has done far worse than simply preside during a time of high gas prices...

7. Your heads in the right place, mini
You and your buds, Dylan and others who are growing up in this turmoil should put those heads together and start thinking of new alternative energy sources.

Be the new crop of leaders to lead us out of this mess...you have some time...but not much. You don't want to be caught like we are when you start driving, growing up and leaving home and entering the adult world. Better get cracking.

and welcome to DU :hi:

8. Hey mini!
My daughter, Mini Moonbeam Starlight, who is only in the third grade, did a collage this year she got in trouble for from her bush loving teacher. She put Bush's head on a ballerina's body and had him saying "I am a liar" and she put Kerry's head on a decorated soldier's body and had him saying "I am a good man" and the teacher called me and told me her collage was inappropriate.

So she did another one in which a donkey beat up an elephant.

I love her! She is one smart cookie and it sounds like you are, too!

10. Wonder if were she a New Yorker, she would be forgiven for doing an art
project that involved her sticking George Bush's head on a chicken's body with a caption that read "on September 11, 2001 I "flew out of harm's way" like a scared chicken, buck, buck, buck, bugawk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" :D

9. I know you wanted to push Dylan in to the pool...
...but maybe it will be just as fun to push him in to a priceless work of art? When life gives you lemons...push a friend in to an irreplacable painting or sculpture.

11. Great post...
...but really, think about us here in Melbourne (Australia), who by the end of this week are going to be paying $1.10 a LITRE at the pumps. I won't be able to afford to run my car anymore.
