Bush Twins Pose-Soldiers Die
:cry:Compare and contrast these two news stories:

Two U.S Soldiers Killed in Iraq, 5 Injured
Two U.S. soldiers were killed and five others were wounded Sunday in a suicide attack near the city of Fallujah, in Western Iraq.
United Press International/Washington Times - May 23, 2004

Bush Daughters to Pose for Vogue
Now that the first Daughters have graduated from college (Barbara from Yale and Jenna from the University of Texas), what's next? First up: a taste of the spotlight. The two have already sat for an interview and photo shoot for Vogue-the first of many interviews they'll do this summer. Then, after a European vacation with friends, the twins will return to Washington to work for Dad.
Newsweek/MSNBC - May 23, 2004

The death toll for American military in Iraq now stands at 801.

Kind of makes it hard to take seriously Bush's rhetoric about sacrifice for freedom and democracy. But like father, like daughter, like Cheney ... it's okay for wealthy Republicans to have "other priorities". Some must pose for Vogue and take European vacations ... some must die to disarm Saddam and rid the Iraqis of torture rooms.

1. The MSGOP headline read "into the real world"
HA! Rich kids like the Bush twins never have to enter the real world of job interviews and such. They will NEVER have to worry about keeping their skills up so they can remain employed throughout their lifetime.

They will NEVER worry about living on a paycheck. Heck they probably don't know what a paycheck is.

2. There's no country in Europe where they will be welcome.
Edited on Sun May-23-04 03:54 PM by Divernan
At least at any public places. They'll be staying at private estates and on private yachts - and we taxpayers will be paying for a doubtlessly very large Secret Service contingent to insulate them from any pesky protestors. Here's a great idea. Has the Secret Service been privatized/outsourced for foreign travel assignments? They could travel with mercenaries!

Really, given the way the conservatives trash "old Europe" and the rest of the world, why don't the twins spend the summer watching daddy's donors exploit the natural resources of the United States' once great and now neglected national park system? See that old growth forest girls? Watch those trees fall!

3. It's strange that they're doing interviews
I thought they wanted to be left alone?

5. I quit buying Vogue
because of its hard turn to the right. Lots of puff pieces on the Bushies. Or airhead debutantes. The magazine now symbolizes excess and self-indulgence. It's been dumbing down for years. And there are so many better alternatives. Like Elle or Marie Claire. Vogue seems anachronistic. It's become the Playboy of the fashion mags.
